I would not recommend this motel, especially for families with young children or single female travelers.
Cons: The room we stayed in was on Level 4, accessible only via a steep staircase, as there was no lift. This made carrying luggage very difficult. The room had a persistent unpleasant smell that we couldn’t get rid of, even after trying to mask it with perfume. A fire alarm went off for a prolonged five minutes during our stay, causing us to rush out of the building. We later learned that the ground floor was under renovation, which may have been the cause. The motel is located in a red-light district surrounded by love hotels and bars, which may not feel safe or comfortable for single female travelers or families with young kids.
Pros: The one positive aspect of our stay was the female staff member who seemed to manage the property. She was extremely apologetic and did her best to assist us, which I appreciated.
We ultimately felt so uncomfortable that we decided to leave the property early. We’ve been trying to get our money back, but so far, neither the property nor Booking.com (whom we booked through) has responded to our concerns.
Additionally, Booking.com should reevaluate its star rating system. How can this property be rated 3 stars when it is located in a setting that is not ideal for families or solo female travelers, lacks basic amenities like a lift especially for travellers with heavy luggage. The rating is misleading and does not reflect the reality of the property, making it difficult for travelers to make informed decisions.
Overall, while the staff’s effort is commendable, the location and condition of the property make it a poor choice for a comfortable and...
Read moreWhile the location is close to the JR lines and rooms are sort of spacious you have to put up with the undesirable fragrance of not only the area where the "hotel" itself is located but also the o´dor la septic tank coming from the water drainage seemingly everywhere. Combine that with the noises of neighbouring occupants making love (which can be heard very clearly in multiple ways) or chatting loudly at 2 AM in the morning and then you are getting close to imagining how this place really is.
For anyone who still wants to come I can only recommend bringing your own towels as you will be only provided with tissue paper thin disposable towels which "work" about as much as you might imagine. The doors are given a very generic and simple to guess password (probably never changes) and windows are facing street without any barrier in case someone wants to get in so avoid leaving anything in the "rooms" just to be sure.
This is more of an AirBNB rather than a "hotel". If I had to guess it used to be offices or storage space which was at least at this point in time poorly converted to be used as "hotel rooms".
I can appreciate the honesty of the staff admitting the issues and issuing refund for the days which I did not end up staying...
Read moreWe had to book this hotel last minute due to an unexpected change in our train schedule caused by typhoon weather, and we’re so glad we did. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful — the lady who checked us in spoke English, which made everything smooth and stress-free. When our train tickets were unexpectedly rescheduled for the next day, the staff were very accommodating and even offered us a partial refund for the extra days we had booked, which we really appreciated.
The location is excellent, with plenty of restaurants, convenience stores, and amenities all within easy walking distance. The room itself was surprisingly spacious for Tokyo, comfortably fitting up to three people (our group had two). Everything was very clean — beds, shower, and toilet — and all amenities were in good working order.
Overall, this was a very positive experience, and I’d recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, spacious, and well-located stay in Tokyo with great...
