Great location- only a short walking distance from 4 subway lines. Central location where you can easily get to Shibuya, Asakusa, Akihabara, Tokyo Big Sight, Central Ginza, the train station, and Haneda Airport. Good place to stay if you are with family and want more space than a hotel room. We have stayed here before with our family of 4, so I booked HIZ again when I was traveling to Tokyo with my daughter. We always book the 2 bedroom apartment. The couch is also a comfortable sofa bed (IKEA). There was a free limo service from the airport if you reached a minimum booking fee. This was a nice convenience when arriving from USA with jetlag. Downside: The 2 times we have stayed here, there has been road noise. The 2 bedroom apartment is in the back of the hotel. This means it gets a lot of road noise from the nearby highway. The master bedroom is especially loud because there is a sliding glass door that lets through a lot of noise. If you are sensitive to noise, please consider this. The noise did not bother the rest of my family. Perhaps the 1 bedroom or hotel room is in the front of the hotel and would get less noise. Also, on this particular visit, there was a lot of road construction during the day. This only impacted us on the days we came back to rest...
Read moreWe got the 2bedroom apartment for 5 of us. The second bedroom is just a single bed and the sofa bed at the lounge is basically a double bed and quite small for our teenagers. The bathroom has the capability to turn as a heating room; great to dry clothes overnight. There are also hanging area at the balcony near the master bedroom.
Location was fantastic but with a lot of walking. That's Japan in overall; lotsss of walking. There are couple of closest subway as far as I can remember depending on where you're heading to. But we just walk around Ginza as taking subway or public transports was like impossible and not coming out via googlemaps. A lot of walking but manageable for us. PLenty of convenience stores nearby...Always a pitstop for us before heading back to the hotel.
The lady at the reception was nice and helpful. Once we needed more toilet rolls; so we just headed to the storeroom as instructed earlier during checkin but we couldn't find them. Just ring the bell and the lady came down to help us within minutes.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay there. We took just one direct train from the nearest subway to Narita Airport on our last day , save us from hassle changing subways...
Read moreA nice place to stay, if you want room to spread out. The entrance kf the room has a closet woth a safe, and a place to leave ypur shoes. You walk in and to the left we had the bedroom with two twin beds and a closet. The room was pretty packed but you could walk between the beds. There was a balcony with a chair and side table too, and lots of places to hang drying clothes out here. To the riggt was the living room area, with a couch, small table for two, and kitchen (and a closet). Beyond is the bathroom area with a sink and washing machine (they provide detergent). From here is a toilet room with a small sink, and the bathtub/shower room. Each room has a door, which means if one person is sleeping another can shower or use the toilet or even make some coffee without waking the other.
The wifi worked well, and they let us store bags after the check out time. It was centrally located in Ginza so shopping was a short walk away. One block away was a Lawson's convenience store, so you can stock up on snacks...
