Hitomi International Forever Eyes English Speaking Hair Salon — Attraction in Tokyo

I saw the good reviews and decided to give this place a shot. I opted for the smoothing hydration treatment (16.5k) for my frizzy hair. I found it a complete waste of time and my hair looked the exact same if not worse from the additional heat damage. One of my biggest regrets that really upset me on my graduation trip in Tokyo. This has easily been the worse salon experience of my life.

I was a walk in customer that came in at 230. Was informed by staff, who was attending calls on her phone that she would only be free at 3 so I waited and came back at 3.

After coming in at the agreed 3 pm slot, she was still constantly answering calls for the first 30 mins. After which, after a basic wash, she put a basic solution on my wet hair, left it on for 15 mins and washed it out. In addition, she wasn’t able to give me details about the treatment or recommendations when I tried asking her treatments that would be best suited for my frizzy wavy hair.

After which she messily blew dry my hair for 10 mins before another customer came in. I was surprised that she completely stopped doing my hair midway through blow drying my hair and attended to the other customer, doing her hair wash + blow dry while I’m just seated here with my frizzy damp hair.

I’m not writing this review as I’m just seated here wasting my time with 30 mins having passed. As most proper hair salons already know, hair styling/blow drying yields best results when hair is 70-80% damp so the styled hair can hold its shape better. However, since she’s just left me to attend to another customer for over 30 mins, my hair has complete air dryed and now looks frizzier then when I came in (which was the whole reason I decided to come to the salon for an anti frizz treatment).

I would not recommend this salon at all. Complete waste of my money and limited time in Tokyo. I am going to have to go home to redo my hair before going out again for a dinner celebration later tonight. This place is expensive and has horrible service.

Update: She stopped doing my hair halfway, finished the other customer’s hair after 40 mins, then returned to my frizzy dry hair she left to air dry, heat damaging it even more. I’ve spent years trying to get my hair healthy again only to have it all undone with this horrendous service. She literally went on my completely dry hair with a flat iron, without applying any heat protectant. I could smell my hair burning as she ripped out chunks of it as she clamped...

Long review- It was our last day in Japan and my daughter really wanted to get her hair done before leaving. Finding an English speaking stylist at the last minute wasn’t easy. I messaged Hitomi about coming in and she quickly responded she had an opening later that afternoon. I really appreciated her swift response since we were limited on time. She not only fit in my daughter but me as well! We had a transportation issue that caused a delay in our arrival and she was so understanding. I wasn’t set on what I actually wanted but she was patient. I ended up showing a reference photo and she did exactly as shown. Amazing! She is a great listener and ensures she understands what you want. Also, if you enjoy a quiet, relaxing experience she picks up on that or if you feel like having a nice conversation during your session, she’s fun and easy to talk to as well. Thank you so much and I look forward to another visit the next time we’re in Tokyo! I had a wonderful experience here. As an English speaker, making the first booking was easy and stress-free. Hitomi, the owner, has a very kind attitude and gave me excellent advice. She did exactly what I asked for: a natural colouring, a great cut, and even a delightful head massage without rushing. She took the time with me which was greatly appreciated and rarely seen nowadays in busy salons.

I’m writing this review more than a month later, and the cut is still perfect — it falls into place beautifully after washing, with minimal styling needed, exactly what I wanted.

Hitomi is a very warm person with extensive experience working in an international salon for many years before opening her own. She is clearly passionate about what she does, and it shows in the genuine, thoughtful way she advises her clients.
