It goes without saying that being a hotel owned and operated by the Japanese, the service at this hotel is amazing. Please don't compare it to the Park Hyatt or the likes; this is not a luxury hotel but a 3 star hotel per Japanese standards. I want to point out the level of service here far exceeded my expectations. I was here for 6 nights in the beginning of December. I was thinking about having a package sent here so I sent them an email in the middle of November to find out if they would accept a package for me. They replied in kind but I decided not to send a package. 2 days into my stay, I receive a letter under my door letting me know that I had inquired about if I can get a package sent but till today, there has been no package sent for me and if I could confirm if I will still be receiving one. This level of attention to detail you don't get even in the 5 star hotels around the world. My trip was pleasure. Just came to visit my old friends, enjoy the food that I miss so much and visit the old sites and some new ones. Location wise, you just can't beat this I think especially if you are the type who packs heavy and then buy more and go back heavier. It is literally AT the train station. The room I was in was a standard single room with a queen bed (I had opted for a queen bed). It is a very basic room and I believe it is about 119 or 149 square feet. Something like that so it's really basic. I was able to work the nights comfortably enough though. They have a laundry machine (you do NOT need to buy separate detergent as the machine automatically adds it to your load), shared microwave. You get your daily toilettries (soap, shampoo, etc.) in big bottles that are in the bathroom which is becoming standard around the world. For the tinier things like disposable shaving razor, hand/body cream, etc, you pick up those yourself from the Lobby as and when you need it. There is a self serve coffee service 24/7 in the lobby and honestly, it is not bad (Way better than the gas station coffee in the US. Way way way better) It's located about 400m from my favorite curry shop and other restaurants, there are several convenience stores closeby. All in all, I love this hotel and I think this is going to be my base in Tokyo...
Read moreI’m writing this review on our last night of 8 here. My first time here but my husband has stayed once before. We came to this hotel as we hire a car and getting a hotel with parking near Tokyo is very hard, but we also use the train a lot and this is also perfect for that - literally a 30 second walk from the station. Previously my husband has stayed here in a twin room which he says was not a bad size, this time we have a double room and it is very small - the smallest I have stayed in while in Japan, the double bed is up to the wall on one side so you have to get in bed from the bottom or crawl over your partner if they’re already in bed, there’s some hanging space but no draws so unpacking is difficult (I didn’t completely unpack, just got stuff out as needed) there’s not really even anywhere to put your case but we found a nook at the end of the desk to put one of the cases. As the days have gone by we have got used to our little room, we would return to this hotel but would choose to pay extra for a bigger room if that’s an option. Breakfast is ok, unfortunately I’m not a very adventurous eater so it was toast every day for me but if you like Japanese breakfast then I’m sure you’ll have a daily feast! There is scrambled egg but I got to the point by the 3rd day where I couldn’t eat it again - luckily I had bought peanut butter with me but there is jam available.|Back to the room... bathroom is small but it doesn’t need to be big, toilet, bath and shower- all toiletries supplied, lovely smelling body wash, shampoo and conditioner, also in the bathroom basket are razors, Alice band, earbuds, cotton pads, toothbrush’s, bath salts and combs so if you forget anything you’re covered! And there’s a hair dryer.|There’s a kettle and cups in the room, you can help yourself to delicious coffee in reception but there’s no tea bags. There’s a fridge in the room and a family mart right over the road so you can get milk and water.|I would say this is mainly a business hotel but it was perfect for us as tourist. We will stay here again and I would...
Read moreThis hotel is truly located in an absolutely PERFECT location. I say this as a person who has lived in Tokyo for half my life and just visited after 20 years.||||It's next to the Mejiro station off the Yamanote Line. Shinjuku is a 7 min ride, Shibuya is a 11 minute ride, Ikebukuro is a 2 min ride.||||Mainly for travellers from North America, please keep the following in mind:||||Tokyo is a densely populated city and as such most of the Japanese hotels are going to be small and not just small; very small. Same is true for this hotel.||||If you are used to the standard US brands where you have a good 300+ square feet of space and that is what you absolutely want, this hotel isn't for you then.||||Location wise: It is RIGHT NEXT to the train station. No stairs, etc. required. There's an elevator that takes you from the platform to the street level if you have bags and there's also an escalator. You walk out of the station, turn right and the next building is the hotel.||||If you travel with one or two suitcases then you know lugging that around can be a pain. This location takes that pain away.||||The rooms are tiny. The bed is between a US queen and US king and there is not much room to open your bags. If you are the kind who likes to travel as a couple and carry as much luggage as you possibly can, you will find the rooms tiny and will be disappointed.||||Famililes of 3 or more should get more than one room.||||If you are a vegetarian, I would skip the breakfast (book without breakfast) as almost everything has some sort of fish/animal extract.||||There's a WONDERFUL bakery right across and some restaurants you can use.||||There is a Family Mart convenience store that has all sorts of goodies.||||There is also a really good Japanese Curry restuarant called Coco Curry which is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. If you've never tried Japanese curry, this is the...
