The name Super is similar to how the Japanese make the sound of "spa", so this is a hotel with a spa pool. |Front desk: There is a pillow selection, which is great for sleep. The staff is very friendly. They gave each female guest an envelope of a series of beauty product samples. You pick up your own amenities outside of the elevator, including tea powder, a hair brush, a small scrubbing tower, a razor kit, etc. You also pick up pajamas (for the spa) from the same pillow shelf. The pajamas are not the traditional Japanese Yucata, it’s a button down long gown, very easy to wear. |Breakfast: Delicious but mostly Japanese options. No milk, only a banana smoothie. The menu changes every day. The eggs are excellent (but they don't make it everyday), so are the pastries. I also like the soup machine where it has 3 types of soup (corn, beef, miso), but they are not freshly made, just powder with hot water, yet still taste good. |Room: Very small bathroom; so small that the shower and sink share the same water control tap, which is a smart design. There’s no waste bin in the bathroom. There is a mini fridge in the room and there’s a microwave oven in the hallway for shared use (odd number floors only). Keyless access with a 6 digit code that is also used for hotel entrance after midnight. They do housekeeping every 4 nights unless you request one. But they deliver fresh towels, a bottle of water, and trash bags to you every day by hanging a bag on the doorknob. A bit wasteful in my opinion as we can certainly re-use the towels if we don’t need daily housekeeping. |The spa pool: Has different hours for men and women. I find the schedule inconvenient for women as they mostly coincide with breakfast and dinner time. There is only one pool and it’s indoor and it's not big. It’s carbon infused hot spring, you can see some small bubbles from the water. For women, there’s a serum gel in the vanity area and some Q-tips, but there are no other products. Only women were given a 6 digit code to enter the spa area, but it’s not the same code as entering the room, which is rather confusing to memorize 2 different codes.|Free open bar: Every day during happy hour, the staff puts out free alcohol next to the front desk. There are hot sake, cold sake, sparkling sake (yum), a few kinds of whiskey, red wine and white wine (in twisted caps, no cork), liqueurs, and shouju. It's a generous offer, and not many guests are taking advantage of it. | Laundry: easy to use, 100 yen per wash/dry. There are two machine sets right next to the public bath. |Overall we are happy with our stay. The location of the hotel is convenient for...
Read moreIf I could rate the experience as a negative, I probably would. The good: breakfast was tolerable, and the washer and dryer seemed to work fine. The bad: The room is large enough to enter and turn around and leave. We had a queen bed with a twin bunk, however it was not a true twin bed size, it was much smaller. They charged an extra fee for 3 people, even though I could pick the exact same room when 2 was selected. We had to make the top bunk ourselves with sheets. The stairs to the bunk were placed under a dropped part of the ceiling, so when you went up or down you had to do it at an impossible angle or hit your head (which happened). The elevator was so slow, and with so many floors it got crowded quickly. The pillows are heavy, hard sacks of round bean-type things. I have never seen or experienced something so terrible. They have a pillow rental spot because of this, and it was constantly empty so good luck not being stuck laying your head on a sack of rocks. The air conditioner leaked all over our carpet so it was always wet, and the room had a terrible odor. We stayed here 3 nights, and I truly, truly despised it. If we could have gotten our money back, I would have left immediately. They offer to store luggage as well, but be warned it sits right in their lobby with a thin string tied to it - that's all there is to protect it. There was only one onsen, and the hours were split between male and female, which was annoying, and a major flaw I was unaware of when making the booking, as I never was there at a time to enjoy it. We stayed in a few different options throughout our visit in Japan, and none of them were this small or poorly set up. They did give us fresh towels every day, however these also stunk. 0/10, spend your money elsewhere. I could not...
Read moreI experienced very unpleasant response from super hotel akihabara-suehirocho. It was inquiry about requesting agoda cancellation fee waiver(I made duplicated reservation and it was my fault). I was rejected once so I tried contact hotel directly. I tried to explain my situation with japanese but he misunderstood the issue as requesting cancel agoda reservation directly. I felt the need to explain again but somehow It feels like this employee doesn't want to willingly troubleshooting anymore. So I tried detailed explain through e-mail but who response to my request was same employee and the response was quite rude and abnormal comparing other hotels. I put capture of the conversation. He unnecessarily using '何度も' to make customer uncomfortable for asking something. We talked like 1 and half minute when I was calling. It was only second time I asked about this issue(Even the first one was misunderstood by him). And as you can see from 2nd response he just wanted to humiliate me about keep asking(even this session was just misunderstand by him). 私の日本人の友達が見て、ホテルでこんな無礼な返事は見たことがないと言った。Well I tried contact super hotel CS but there was no way to contact there in overseas, the phone number was for japanese only. I didn't get to the hotel yet but no matter how nice the hotel quality is good and the hotel concierge is, this hotel is Not even worth evaluating. It looks like hotel manager(or senior hotel concierge) managing google review section, I hope he can aware and handle this issue. If YOU are the rude one, get some help. You are not qualified at your job. Even though I'm foreigner I still can nuanced. You...
