Calligraphy Workshop Tokyo — Attraction in Tokyo

On my last day in Tokyo I visited this fun and informative workshop! Located on the 4th floor, it was all setup ready for my arrival. I had 2 instructors that guided me thru the history and examples of Japaanese calligraphy. I selected the New Years kite to write my name on after lots of practice. I had an amazing experience at the workshop. Chihiro was an amazing teacher, very attentive and helped give pointers on the finer details of Calligraphy. Sai was awesome to talk with as well before and during the class.

The Matcha portion of the class was lovely. It was nice to learn how to properly go through a tea ceremony.

Fun and enriching calligraphy + matcha class! I attended an hour long session with a calligraphy master and got to create my own Enso (the ink circle) also whisk my own cup of matcha, and eat some traditional wagashi. It was fun and I also learned a lot about Japan’s history of matcha and zen buddishm.
