For those who want to enjoy ramen in Japan, I recommend this shop. Although it's a chain in Japan, it operates in small stores with a small number of staff. We would appreciate it if you could wait patiently without getting frustrated or angry. Some of the staff may not be Japanese, and they may not speak English, but they are kind.
Here's how to use the shop:
Purchase a ticket at the ticket machine on the left side after entering the shop. Cash only!! Once you have your ticket, if there are available seats, the staff will guide you to your seat. Hand your ticket to the staff.
When handing over the ticket, you may be able to choose the flavor. Choose one from soy sauce, miso, and salt.
That's because you'll be adding seasoning to the tonkotsu soup. Tonkotsu + additional flavor. If you're not sure, please ask for japanese「Osusume de」=please a recommendation.
After that, just wait, and they will bring it to you. It's also recommended for children.
The photo shows the most popular tonkotsu ramen. You can order it with the ticket in the top left corner of the ticket machine. Choose one from soy sauce, miso, and salt. I chose miso. If it's your first time, salt or soy sauce is recommended.
Because it's free, I'll only use what I need.
Harukiya Ramen uses soy sauce. If you want to try something other than tonkotsu ramen, this is also recommended.
Please be aware that the red ramen in the photo is spicy! Please be careful. I don't recommend it for those who want to eat tonkotsu ramen.
Enjoy your time...
Read morefirst time trying ramen in japan, it was very filling and very good! we shared two bowls of ramen, an order of gyoza, a coke and the spicy bean sprouts and green onions side/topping. we added an order of spinach as a topping as well. only reason i gave 4 stars instead of 5 is the pork wasn't super flavourful/salty and the spinach could have used some salt as well but it was still REALLY good. i'd probably skip the spinach next time bc it was so much food already lol. we did order the bigger sizes which is probably why. the coke was pretty small for ¥290 (190ml bottle). floor was a bit slippery (similar to the way a kitchen in a restaurant is from cooking oil spills) so if you're bad on your feet take your time getting to your seat. it is CASH ONLY! there is a family mart nearby to pull money out if you did not bring cash. i wish i could put 4.5 stars! i put 4 stars for service as other than handing in your ticket there isnt much interaction, and the machine you order on, every time you click english and select an item, and return to the main menu it reverts back to japanese language. while it isnt a huge deal that this happens, it was a tad annoying especially when you have no idea what you're ordering. the font was a bit small to read and there wasnt much of a description on what you are buying. overall was...
Read moreWhen we walked in with our 1 year old, towards a table, the staff kept yelling at me to order from the machine. Yes, I know I need to order from a machine, I just want to settle down with my child and look at the menu first.
The noodles were overcooked, and broth was mediocre. And the slices of meat were so thin. The only thing that was decent was the gyoza.
Service was horrible. The server and the chef were both Vietnamese. The server could barely speak Japanese or English. And she looked like she hated working there and was...
