Ueno Woo Hotel — Hotel in Tokyo

Warning - Do not pay with credit card. I had to make a change to a reservation. Rather than modifying my reservation I had to rebook it…not a problem but I was charged for the first one and was told it would take ‘a month or two’ for the refund. Thats too long for a simple refund in my opinion but, OK. It has now been 10 weeks and I still don’t have the refund. I have had to open a dispute with my credit card. The hotel may have done the right thing and process the cancellation but the company they use for the international transactions seems to be the issue. Hotel and Location are great. But if I there is any chance of a change in your travel plans, don’t book this place.

Update. There was an issue with the company they use to process the credit card. It came through as “pay pal”. ...

We’re still here, and I’m already sad that we’ll have to leave in a few days.

This is truly the most wonderful place you’ll find in Tokyo—and we’ve been to Tokyo many times. The hotel is spotless, the staff are professional and friendly, and there are several subway stations nearby. You can also catch the direct train to and from Narita Airport just 10–13 minutes away on foot, with no stairs along the way.

The hotel has an elevator (even air-conditioned!), and there are plenty of great restaurants around, plus more than one 7-Eleven and FamilyMart within walking distance.

I almost wish I could keep this hotel a secret—but that wouldn’t be fair to the owners and the team who make it so special. From now on, this is the only place we’ll stay in Tokyo,...
