Nice little hotel with great service.
The staff really did help us out with all our requests and thus made our stay as comfortable as possible (considering the very small room). The 3 of us were staying for 8 nights and every request for extra towels, pillows and sheets was granted without extra charge. They also kept our luggage during our Mount Fuji trip and even had it waiting in our new room, after our return.
We arrived around 10am in the morning normally had to wait for 4 hours to get to our room. This was the only extra charge (1000 JPY per 1 hour) we encountered and kind of reasonable. After the red eye flight, we gladly took this offer.
Throughout the day, you can get coffee and small snacks + from 9pm onwards you get rice & miso soup (with Japanese condiments) until 11pm. Like the breakfast it is nothing super special, but for a 3 star hotel and the convenience of being able to sit down and have a coffee, chocolate or just plain cold water, it is well appreciated.
The location is close to the Hibiya Metro (non-JR, 50m) station called Iriya, which proved to be very useful with its connections to Ueno, Akihabara. Usuigudani is a bit further and while we initially thought it might be our main station (as it is part of the JR pass), we ended up using it only once. Walking 20000 steps or more every day without the "last mile" was the main reason.
The hotel is very clean and you can even elect to skip the daily cleaning for a bottle of water.
There are plenty of convenience stores and food options (Chinese, Bakery, Katsu, Ramen, Sushi) within 10 minutes distance and many more, if you do not mind to go further towards the...
Read moreThe hotel is clean and has lots of freebies: coffee, juice, water, rice with soup at night, bath amenities for women. Our room had a nice view of skytree. 3 minutes walk from hibiya iriya station and familymart. ||||The frontdesk staff during the day were very nice. However there is one frontdesk guy during the night that came to us as rude. Every night when we get back to the hotel there are 3 bath robes. Then one night we got nothing. So I went down and politely asked the frontdesk guy. He gave 3 robes to me, smiled and just asked for our room number. ||||The next night, we only got 2 so I went down again and asked this time from an older guy in the frontdesk. He said no several times. I explained to him clearly and politely in english what I need. I was sure he understood because he said robe as well and kept on saying no. Then I asked why and explained to him that we have been receiving 3 bathrobes the previous days. He stormed inside got a towel and gave it to me. I said not that but we need a robe, he was clearly irritated said something and stormed inside again got a robe and gave it to me. All that time I was perfectly calm, never raised my voice and even said arigato after. I was with my kid as well.||||He was the only rude Japanese we encountered the whole trip. And for that we will probably won’t book that hotel again unless management does something about it and trains all the staff with good...
