This affordable hotel is close to a station, has a vending machine right out front for emergencies, and it's close to laundry, two 7-11's, and some good/cheap restaurants. Keep in mind this isn't a traditional hotel with a front desk. You get a code for the building and for your door, and you may never even see the staff. That said, they respond to messages quickly, and turn over the rooms like any other hotel. (Their towels are really nice too! My next hotel has sandpaper for towels!) We did not have any issues with loud neighbors. The bed was fine (I was told) but unless you really love a firm bed, the futon is quite rough to sleep on. The bathroom was actually quite big for a Japanese hotel. I had a few issues with getting warm water, but my friend didn't, so maybe it was a fluke. The stair well is quite small. Note that you can ship your luggage from the nearby 7-11, so not having a front desk isn't a big deal. I would say one possible downside is that the rooms can be quite small. We could hardly walk through ours once the futon was folded out. This won't be an issue if you don't need it though.
There was a big TV in our room (twice as big as the one in my next, more traditional hotel). The mini-fridge and kitchenette were nice to have, and there is a kettle for tea or ramen should you need it.
All in all, I'll probably stay here again should I ever...
Read more· Stayed at room 303 Pros- This hotel is budget friendly. Close to train stations - hibiya line and Yamanote line Close to Ueno and Akasusa Shower / bath water pressure is wonderful Sent plenty of towels AC / heat works great Service response was very timely
· Cons- Paper thin walls Towards the end of our stay, there was a baby next door. You can hear the baby crying and the parents fighting. No elevator so you have to walk your suitcases up. There is only one microwave located on the first floor. We stayed for 15 days and they only cleaned / replaced bedding twice. If they could provide a broom or small vacuum that would help with keeping the place clean. We have a few girls with long hair. The futon bed on the lower level is awful. Very very uncomfortable. Had back pain for days. I hope they will replace it. There were 4 beds, 3 upstairs and one downstairs. A small coffee table upstairs. There is no other furniture so we can’t have a meal together comfortably. This place is a bit too...
Read moreTotally loved our stay here! The hotel is brand new and spotlessly clean. The room is big for Japan standards, with great use of space (huge and comfy bed, storage space under the beds and below the sofa, foldable table and chairs). We stayed for many days and it’s perfectly comfortable, having sitting space, a small fridge, cups and kettle, etc. I also loved how bright and well ventilated the room is, with 2 big windows.||The location is also very convenient. It’s a quiet neighborhood so you can rest very well, but you’re walking distance to 24hs restaurants, convenience stores, and touristic spots such us Akihabara, Asakusa, Sumida river, Ueno Park. Also many subway stations nearby to quickly get to other neighborhoods.||Staff is also lovely, will stay here again next...
