Lovely little cafe, I think this place would be the definition of a Japanese style hipster cafe. As you can see from my pics, it used to be a 'sento' aka Japanese Public Bathhouse. They've retained the old sento look on the inside and facade of the building so it has a real traditional and rustic charm.
The food and drinks itself was quite limited. They only had ice cream and drinks. The flavors of ice cream i remember are coconut (which was the seasonal special) chocolate, acai and vanilla. Im sure there were a few more. In terms of drinks, they specialise in coffee so they had a few selections, im not an expert so I can't really say anything about it. They also had other drinks like tea, juices etc.
I'm not gonna lie, it was quite pricey for a coffee and a scoop of ice cream (¥1050), however nice it was, I personally didn't think it was worth it so I thought of the price as part of the atmosphere.
Overall, a bit pricey but still recommend it as an experience. Staff is friendly and relatively quick. It was nice, clean and spacious plus no waiting time, which is rare for a place like this in Tokyo...
Read moreThis was an excellent Cafe that a YouTuber I follow recommended.
The space is absolutely beautiful since it used to be an old bath house. They've restored it lovingly and made it a special space.
The food and drinks were also excellent.
We both had the soup set which had a lovely mushroom soup and delicious salad. The sweet potatoes on the side were just okay.
We both really enjoyed the coffee jelly lattes though. It was an interesting take on a drink and the additional lemon was a nice touch. I ended up eating part of the lemon too 😂
I also decided to try the chestnut ice cream since that's one of my favorite flavors and it was a seasonal offer. It was really good. The texture was a little grainy for ice cream but I kind of enjoyed that about it. Not icy, but rather you could tell there's actual chestnut in it.
I would love to come again to try the other ice creams and just chill in the space.
What was really cool too is that you could take a tour of the onsen portion of the cafe as well as long as nobody else was...
Read moreWent to eat ice cream on a snowy day - during our trip in Tokyo, this cafe left the biggest impression on me! I don't usually like coffee but I was curious about the ice cream pairings. To my delight, the blueberry ice cream was delicious and complemented the coffee well, it left no acrid aftertaste which is usually what I dislike about it. Very tasty! I also had tea and the daily cake, which was chocolate. The tea was beautiful, the chocolate cake was good but a bit heavy (I expected this, I should have ordered a muffin but my friends had already done so).
The quiet atmosphere of the cafe was so relaxing compared to other places in Tokyo, as we were the only ones there apart from some workers in the office area next to the cafe part (again, we were eating ice cream for breakfast on a snowy day, safe to say we were the only crazy ones that day - but very very worth it for the experience.)
Very unique, would recommend to foreigners in Tokyo! When I go back to Tokyo one day, I...
