[Day spa option only] TLDR: It costs 1000 yen but is not worth it. Onsen is nice and clean, but only two baths with the same water, and awkward staff who don't know how to deal with you of you're a foreigner. Avoid if you have dog or dust allergies because dogs are everywhere and it is carpeted and not very clean.

A woman at the Tourist Information bureau recommended this place to us and told us it was 500 yen per person to use the baths. It is actually 1000 per person. I'm not sure why they offer this option - they don't seem prepared for spa-only guests. We were confused regarding what we were allowed to do or go. When we asked where to put our used towels, the receptionist just gingerly took them from us directly into her hands - shouldn't there be a basket or something? Dogs are allowed everywhere, including on sofas outside the bath and the carpet. If you have a dog, I suppose that's a good thing, but if you have dog allergies like I do, you should definitely...

Nice place. Stayed in a Japanese style tatami room. Comfortable. Dinner was kaiseki style, and had free flow drinks (Beer, Whiskeys, Sake, Soft Drinks, Coffee/Tea) and breakfast was buffet style.

One interestingly observation: think they are trying to automate the check in process, but I do think having a person welcoming guests would be a nicer touch. In fact, we were helped by a staff to do the check-in, which was helpful.

The lobby to the lift area has a small flight of stairs which you need to carry your luggage to.

Onsen was good. For anyone wanting to know - there are no private or couple onsens here.

Carpark right in front of the hotel is limited, but there is one just across the road in an alley which is convenient and free.

Very near the illumination tunnel and lake toya is 2 blocks down for the fireworks (at certain times...

Booked this hotel as it’s the most inexpensive during a peak season it seems in Hokkaido. Still expensive but comparing with other hotel rates it’s what I can afford for a hotel which has onsen.||Am ok to stay in a simple hotel but what really irritated me is the attitude of some of the staff and some facilities are really of poor quality. The aircon is very poor, we had to resort to using a fan. When I mentioned to seems to be the manager, he reacted like he can’t be bothered with my concern because he said the AC is working then looked at His watch like am wasting his time. The room is very smelly when we first entered. The lift from street floor to reception is very smelly. The room is old. The front desk person didn’t smile when we checked in. You’re in hospitality business! So if you don’t like what you’re doing...

We stayed here on May 15th. This hotel really needs to be renovated, its very old. Comparing with the price, it’s so expensive, really not worth, the facilities are really poor quality. The room is so smelly with many dusts. Luckily we stayed here only 1 night. Receptionists cant speak English. And we had to pay tax when check out, although we booked through Agoda and paid all (included tax and service charge) The only good thing about this hotel is location, opposite Toya lake then you can walk there and enjoy the fireworks at night. But you can choose many other hotels, even have both better location and facility. We are so disappointed about this hotel.

Stay 6different hotel on this trip this hotel have the staff with the best service, especially the front staff and restaurant staff too. also stay two hotel in this area this hotel still stand with the best standard compare to two times more expensive hotel infront or the lake with poor service and racism, here u will feel much better!. Its happy place to stay and would choose here again, the room maybe old as the hotel , butt!!! talking about beauty of classicxxx its amazing. the onsen also really beautiful and relaxing highly recommend. The hotel deserve much better rating than 3.6 its a lie this place is definitely over 4.8over all!!!

Visited this hotel 12 years prior and I would have to say that while it's old, it's reasonably maintained. Still, the onsen and lobby (with stairs prior to the elevator which made large luggage a pain) should be renovated. Breakfast was standard but only in Japanese style. Dinner depended, the first night set was good aside from that rice with corn (like really?) and second night dinner set was great. Had plenty of parking next to and behind the hotel. They also had bicycles for borrowing. All in all, for the price, it's still good value.
