[Day spa option only] TLDR: It costs 1000 yen but is not worth it. Onsen is nice and clean, but only two baths with the same water, and awkward staff who don't know how to deal with you of you're a foreigner. Avoid if you have dog or dust allergies because dogs are everywhere and it is carpeted and not very clean.
A woman at the Tourist Information bureau recommended this place to us and told us it was 500 yen per person to use the baths. It is actually 1000 per person. I'm not sure why they offer this option - they don't seem prepared for spa-only guests. We were confused regarding what we were allowed to do or go. When we asked where to put our used towels, the receptionist just gingerly took them from us directly into her hands - shouldn't there be a basket or something? Dogs are allowed everywhere, including on sofas outside the bath and the carpet. If you have a dog, I suppose that's a good thing, but if you have dog allergies like I do, you should definitely...
Read moreNice place. Stayed in a Japanese style tatami room. Comfortable. Dinner was kaiseki style, and had free flow drinks (Beer, Whiskeys, Sake, Soft Drinks, Coffee/Tea) and breakfast was buffet style.
One interestingly observation: think they are trying to automate the check in process, but I do think having a person welcoming guests would be a nicer touch. In fact, we were helped by a staff to do the check-in, which was helpful.
The lobby to the lift area has a small flight of stairs which you need to carry your luggage to.
Onsen was good. For anyone wanting to know - there are no private or couple onsens here.
Carpark right in front of the hotel is limited, but there is one just across the road in an alley which is convenient and free.
Very near the illumination tunnel and lake toya is 2 blocks down for the fireworks (at certain times...
Read moreBooked this hotel as it’s the most inexpensive during a peak season it seems in Hokkaido. Still expensive but comparing with other hotel rates it’s what I can afford for a hotel which has onsen.||Am ok to stay in a simple hotel but what really irritated me is the attitude of some of the staff and some facilities are really of poor quality. The aircon is very poor, we had to resort to using a fan. When I mentioned to seems to be the manager, he reacted like he can’t be bothered with my concern because he said the AC is working then looked at His watch like am wasting his time. The room is very smelly when we first entered. The lift from street floor to reception is very smelly. The room is old. The front desk person didn’t smile when we checked in. You’re in hospitality business! So if you don’t like what you’re doing...
