R GARDEN Yamanakako — Hotel in Yamanakako

It is an interesting place to stay as an alternative to hotel or ryokan.

We booked a 2-bedroom cabin. It is quite small, as shown in the photos in the website. The bathroom is small. But the cabin is good enough for us as a couple. It is clean and nicely decorated.

We added the BBQ meat platter when we booked the cabin online. The portion is too large for the two of us. The meat is of good quality. We bought some vegetables, fruit and drinks from the Ogino supermarket nearby. The BBQ gas hob is easy to use. All the cutlery and crockery are provided in the cabin and we washed them after use.

The host lit a bonfire in the evening and provided marshmallows for us to grill. We chatted a bit around the bonfire with the host and the guests of the other cabins. It was around 5 degrees Celsius in early December so sitting around the bonfire was still a bit cold.

The host is usually in his admin cabin so he is accessible for enquiries.

The resort is very nice, clean warm and adoreable. We rent a car and there is spacious area for parking. We booked the resort for 3 persons. The cabin has 2 bedrooms, one bathroom, and a living room with full equipped pantry. All kitchenware, including an induction stove and microwave, are fully provided and I really enjoyed cooking for several meals. In addition, at the balcony, a set of table with grilling quipments is provided. Amazing!!

The atmosphere around the resort is very nice and peaceful. There are bicycles that you can borrow for free of charge, if available at that time. Several convenient stores, Lawson and Seven-Eleven, are nearby where you can reach with bicycle or walking.

All in all, I really love this place. The owner may not be able to speak English fluently, but no need to worry because he can communicate with you all with Google Translate...

We are family with one kid 9 years old and visited R Garden for 2 nights in April. We travelled by car and it was very conviniet for us to arrive there and park the car there. The place is very stylish and have all you need for the stay. Location is very good, a few minutes away from the lake, grocery shop and restaurants.

The only thing that was not good for me, was that in the middle of the night, water was flushing in the toilet with intervals of a few minutes for about 1 or 2 hours. For me it was too noisy and I slept very poor. I asked about it, and I was told this is system that water is not freezing. Other family members was not bothered, so I guess it dependa how sensitive you are for noise...
