The lobby and pictures are incredibly misleading. They depict a clean modest hotel with all the amenities you would need for a comfortable stay. What you receive however is lackluster and aggravating. The first sign of something being wrong is the smell of smoke in the elevator. That could be be written off as rude guests not caring where they smoke but this doesn’t seem to be the case. The room we booked was a superior double room - nonsmoking but when we entered the room we were immediately hit with the smell of smoke. The front desk specified this was a nonsmoking room but you could’ve fooled me. The wasn’t the end of the disappointment. The bed was supposed to be a queen bed but under further observation it appeared to just be two twin bed pushed together and being connected with a bed sheet. Incredibly misleading and frustrating. After discovering this we decided to turn on the AC to add ventilation and clear the smell but the AC was clearly incredibly dirty and weak. Having it on clogged our noses and made our throats feel scratchy but to keep it off made our room hot, stuffy, and the smell began to come back. The panel which controlled the AC and all lights was incredibly outdated and provided the only available outlet in the room for use. This was not presented in the photos and was obviously deliberate. The bathroom wasn’t as bad but still was incredibly outdated and it showed. The toilet was uneven and made noises for minutes after use. The shower lacked adequate water pressure and felt weak the entire shower. All the lights were an old yellow that gave everything a dirty feel. The only exception was the bed side lamp which was an incredible harsh white light that felt uncomfortable to use. There was one positive of this hotel though and that was its superb location. Being twenty minutes walking distance from every major location in Yokohama was an incredible perk because you want to stay as far away from your room as much as you can. If you have the choice to stay at another location I would highly...
Read moreBooked for 2 nights but we decided to leave after 1 night and forfeited the money we paid because we both could not sleep at all.
Good things - the young man at the front office was superb and assisted us in English. Check in was smooth and perfect. Hotel lobby has a reception area for guests to work at. Hotel location is very ideal and close to the bay and major attractions. There is a convenience store right at ground floor.
Bad things - hotel is very old, you can tell from the interior. There was only 2 power sockets at very odd locations.. (one at foot of the bed, another one at the door) We are here during winter and the room was SO warm and stuffy when we checked in.. Hotel locked the AC function to heater only, there is no cold air at all. The window is bolted shut. I was so hot that my cheeks rushed red and I felt dizzy. I went down to front office to ask for help from this older gentleman who looked like the front office manager. Told him i could not speak Japanese, "ego daijoubu?" He ignored me and talked to me in Japanese again. (no attempt at all to communicate with me) I used google translate to tell him the issue, he passed me an electric fan. The fan helped to blow some air in the room but it was so stuffy I could not sleep at all. We had to shorten our trip very sadly due to...
Read moreThe location is great. It’s very practical and has the entrance to Izasaki-Chojamachi station right out infront. There’s also a Lawson connected to it which is very convenient.
However, the rooms were insanely hot. I understand that because it’s winter at the moment that the rooms need to be well insulated, but there was no way of turning down the heat. Even when the setting was completely turned off it was way too hot. It doesn’t help that you can’t open a window either (due to safety reasons understandably) It was especially very unpleasant sleeping at night. It was so hot to the point where I didn’t need to use a blanket or anything. I think there needs to be a way where customers can choose to use air conditioners in the room or completely turn off the heat even if it’s during the winter time. Regardless it’s still a very nice hotel and would recommend it to others with the heat being the only main...
