We stayed here midway of our trip around East Africa. First off I’d say the treatment/service from the staff was amazing and they were all very friendly. One girl|Jen even helped us make a payment to a driver via Mpesa which we did not have. Unfortunately the hotel|Was going through noisy/messy renovations during our stay which wasn’t great. We stayed in two separate rooms which we felt were overpriced but I assume the good location accounts for this. |Issues for both rooms were the windows not being able to close (one room, the windows were being held close by string). The second room we stayed I. Had exposed wires right beside the shower head which you need to adjust to control the hot water. This is a huge health and safety risk and is quite frankly life threateningly dangerous. I received an electrical shock on my first day and luckily it wasn’t anything worst than that (see picture of the hazard). There was also high levels of mould in the bathroom. We wouldn’t stay they’re again which is a shame as the staff were so great and friendly. If your looking for a good location and don’t mind paying the price for this,...
Read moreI stayed at the Hotel Embassy 7days. Yes, it's an old hotel, but what they lack is modernist, they more than make up with their staff. The staff are incredibly kind and incredibly accommodating. It's a budget hotel and provides the basics including hot water. The restaurant is very reasonably priced and the food was good!
It's located in the central business district and is conveniently located near almost anything. Uber were usually within 3 minutes, 5 minutes a few times. There's also a 24hr convenience store 2 blocks away. I felt safe walking to the store at night. The market literally across the street exchanges currency. Don't exchange at the airport Lol.
Long story short, if you don't need 5 stars,...
Read moreLocated right next to the Nairobi City Market, which has a good collection of Kenyan artistic products. It is a walking distance of several amenities in Nairobi, including Jamia mosque and the University of Nairobi Towers. The hotel looks old; however, the management has made attempts to keep it in a fairly decent shape. That said, I think it charged more than reasonable for the level of service, but I am no expert in Nairobi hotel fares. Would I spend a night there again? Mmmmmmm, this isn't my first choice, but I might choose it because of its relatively secure location (visually) and close...
