very good quality restaurant in Nairobi city center, close to Moi Avenue and Jevanjee Gardens. it is always full with locals, and you'll probably share a table there (except sundays). there is a good choice of food, african meat and fish dishes, and several veggie dishes too. as a vegetarian, i went for the one called the Mix, which is a huge meal of rice, greens, mashed peas and red beans, and it also comes with chapati bread. prices are very affordable and the quality-price rate is excellent. service is quick, and the staff is very kind, like Helmah's and her cute smile. if you want to try a real african-kenyan restaurant, this is the place in Nairobi. i ate there for a week, never had any problems at all, and it is so budget-friendly. really liked this restaurant. maybe they should improve the decor a little, and the choice of drinks is a little limited (everybody's only having tea anyway), but G&R is very good imho. definitely...
