Kilimanjaro Jamia Restaurant, Kimathi Street I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kilimanjaro Jamia Restaurant, located on Kimathi Street, and I must say it was an incredible experience. As an expert in the field, I am always on the lookout for restaurants that offer authentic and delicious cuisine, and Kilimanjaro Jamia did not disappoint. First and foremost, the restaurant's ambiance was warm and inviting. The interior had a modern yet cozy feel, with comfortable seating arrangements and tasteful decor that reflected the vibrant culture of East Africa. The restaurant was clean, well-maintained, and had a pleasant atmosphere. Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the food. Kilimanjaro Jamia specializes in East African cuisine, and their menu offers a wide variety of dishes that showcase the rich flavors and traditional cooking techniques of the region. From the moment I took my first bite, I could tell that the chefs at Kilimanjaro Jamia had a deep understanding of the cuisine they were preparing. One of the standout dishes I tried was the Nyama Choma, which is grilled meat marinated in a blend of herbs and spices. The meat was perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor. The restaurant not only accommodates Muslims but is also welcoming to all people from all walks of life. Their barbeque platter, biryani, pilau and butter chicken are among the best dishes on the menu. One of the things that stood out the most was their platter for three, which is a delicious twist on the Kenyan and Arab delicacies like Naan, Biriyani, Pilau, Chicken, arosto, or sizzling beef. The menu also featured other East African favorites such as Pilau, Biryanis, and various vegetarian options. Each dish I tried was expertly prepared, and the quality of ingredients was evident. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring that I left the restaurant feeling fully satisfied. The service at Kilimanjaro Jamia was also commendable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than happy to provide recommendations and accommodate any dietary preferences or restrictions. In terms of pricing, Kilimanjaro Jamia offers good value for the quality of food and dining experience they provide. The prices were reasonable, considering the portion sizes and the overall quality of the ingredients used. If I were to point out any areas for improvement, it would be the waiting time for the food to arrive. Although it was not excessive, a slightly faster service would further enhance the dining experience.

First time at Kilimanjaro. And, I was wowed! The dining space is quite huge with seating options either inside the main restaurant as well as outside overlooking Kimathi Street. The ambience is so warm and cosy. I think the best time to appreciate this place is very early in the morning before the crazy busy lunch-rush. The menu was truly overwhelming for a hungry, first-timer such as myself. Because, everything on the menu looked good! My waiter, Joel, was super helpful in this aspect and suggested i try the liver ("Maini") with chapati. It came in sauteed strips with a side of potato-based gravy. I didn't regret this choice at all. In fact, my tummy was doing a vigorous dance of delight from all the deliciousness. I also had their Caffe Mocha which was just amazing - hot and perfectly balanced in terms of the coffee and chocolate and milk. All this set me back a mere Kshs.530/- (about $5). Meanwhile, the supervisor was on hand to ensure that everything ran smoothly and that I enjoyed myself. I loved the attention to detail...even their toothpicks are branded!!! I Definitely recommend this place. If there were more than 5 stars to give, I would glady give them to Kilimanjaro.

Kilimanjaro Restaurant is a bustling eatery, particularly during lunch hours, with plenty of attentive wait staff available to cater to the crowd. The menu offers Swahili-inspired dishes, including the biryani. However, I found the chicken in the biryani to be lacking freshness, which was disappointing. The restaurant's flavors have undergone changes over time, with the once bold and vibrant tastes becoming less pronounced. While the bathrooms are clean, it's worth noting that the ladies' and gents' facilities are located separately. The portion sizes at Kilimanjaro are quite generous, often too much for a single person to consume, so sharing a dish is recommended. Kilimanjaro Restaurant provides fast service, and the wait staff are helpful and attentive. They have an online ordering system in place, making it convenient for customers to place their orders by scanning the provided QR code.

Kilimanjaro is my favourite eating place when in town. The place has got some really amazing food that will leave your test buds yearning for more. My favorite foods are goat meat with rice or chicken biriani. This can be accompanied with some juice or inhouse smoothie. The staff are very proffesional and always ready to help. The place is always packed and if you not lucky, you may end up missing a seating space. Orders can be delivered late a bit due to the high about of people. Once the food has been brought, that is the most satisfying thing. The quality and quantify is always very fulfilling. The place is also very clean. While eating, one can enjoy the beautiful views of Nairobi. That is if you are lucky to sit on the outer part of the restaurant. The choice is yours.

Generous portions, low price. Don't be fooled by the low price of some items in the menu like fish tikka, cheese naan or the chiken tikka, that may lead you to belive that those are side dishes but they can perfectly be a good complete lunch. Crowded at noon with locals and foreigners as well if you find a spot you will enjoy flavours from Africa and india. The service is not the best but is acceptable, don't come to get super personalised attention, come to get in touch with what is a day to day downtown office lunch, don't come to find the best of exotic flavors, come to get a somehow decent flavor of the foood you are tasting but always prioritizing portion sizes. Overall is ok and is 4 stars for me because even when is not the best you can find is definitely worth going.

I have been here numerous times and I can never get enough of this place I can almost certainly say their food in Nairobi town centre is the best, healthy and not overly expensive. If you are looking for an authentic Kenyan experience and try out some swahili and Somali dishes or just stick with the diverse western meals this is your place. They have an indoor and balcony sitting area for groups and individuals. I would recommend this place for business meetings because it's popular and can get sure busy meaning it can be distracting but it's a great place to bring your family and friends. The main entrance has a staircase and it posses a challenge to anyone who might be on a wheelchair or have accessibility challenges.
