IMPALA HOTEL PARKLANDS — Hotel in Nairobi

Chose due to high rating on jovogo but wouldn't come back. ||Good points: Walking distance to Nairobi museum and taxis from town about 500ksh. Good internet speed. Reception staff quite friendly.||Poor points: building work ongoing next door from 7am until late at night ..not the best alarm clock after a late night. Rooms were very stuffy extremely uncomfortable and window is actually window into corridor so no movement of air. Toilet didn't have seat and didn't flush properly. Restaurant waitresses First day we asked for the breakfast as staying at hotel and almost had to force her to give us the options. 2nd morning the restaurant was almost empty and she ignored us for 10minutes, food took another 20 mins then got drink order wrong. Breakfast wasn't anything to look forward to. Water supply was intermittent but think that was area thing and they did bring us a bucket of water for washing after asking. When I arrived they were surprised I was here and didn't know I had a reservation and I showed them the reservation and I told them I prepaid and they were surprised about that and I produce the receipt and they still had to make calls to confirm it and then find that we were taking our room and it was on the a single not two singles in one and a huge huge huge cockroach walked out of the bathroom as if we were in his room and the level of cleanliness is less than what we are used to then they moved this to a second room with two beds and more space more to what we had paid for and the shower did not wear but they provide s a bucket with a dipper so we can bring water from this sink to the bucket...

We stayed in impala hotel for 10 nights and we were very happy. The rooms were nice and clean the environment was amazing,nice tables outside for relaxing,and chilling. All the staff were very very friendly and very helpful, the reception is 24hours on.The restaurant at wine and bottle was good the breakfast lunch and dinner was the best,the staff are friendly and amazing.The taxis are always available, museum and Central Business District are close distance.
