I stayed in this place for 5 days, and I left my room in 'Do Not Disturb' mode the entire time—I wanted everything to be precisely where I left it whenever I returned from the workshops downstairs.

THE ROOM The liquid soap is moisterizing (and smelled good) and the hair blower worked. There is enough space in the storage to store everything. It even has a little shoe cleaning kit, and a sewing kit for if there are any wardrobe emergencies. I appreciated these 'little things'. They also had an iron, which I believe I used. They provide a folder, notepads and pencils. I wish the pencils had a softer lead (like 3B or 5B)—I think that would be a wonderful surprise for anyone who would wants to make a quick sketch. The pillows were fluffy and just firm enough for my liking. It was very comfortable; perhaps too comfortable. I partly blame this bed for sleeping through my alarms twice. My only qualm was that one has to call room service for toothpaste, and I felt strangely bad about making someone come all the way to my floor for a little toothpaste. I wished I had just bought some of my own. It would also be nice to have a little hair oil in the bathroom, because that's something that's tricky to pack in a suitcase without risking an oil-leak incident.

THE FOOD The buffets here made me realize how accustomed I am to my and mom's food back home. I'm a vegetarian, and there was quite a wide selection of vegetarian food, but most of them didn't appeal to me (none of the dishes I tried were spicy!). But after a little while, I found food combinations that worked great for me (although my plates did get quizzical looks from my colleagues).

I'm sorry to say I was especially disappointed by the dessert, night after night. They always looked cute and tempted one to try them, but they were always dry or lacking in another way—I hope those would be better next time.

EVERYTHING ELSE The hotel has a generator so, when there were power cuts (and there were a couple during my stay), they switched on the generator almost immediately after. The Wi-Fi was not working very well in the Baobab Meeting Room, especially on the latter days. Following fellow reviewers recommendations here, my colleagues and I went to the top floor and saw the rotating restaurant. That was trippy! It was also great to hear one of the waiters and my college describe different parts of Nairobi through the window as the floor we were on moved. As someone who tends to get sea sick, I don't think I would be able to eat there, but I was great to see that marvel of engineering at work.

I had a good time in...

This is a review for anyone traveling with young kids under 2 years and older folks over 65 years!!! I live in the USA and wanted to take my American in-laws to visit Kenya, as a new mom my one year old son was obviously with me. The location of Movenpick in Nairobi makes it perfect for business travels but if your are on vacation and needs a place to relax this is ideal!

From planning our vacation the front office and receptionist were extremely professional and prompt ! Huge respect and gratitude to Mr. Kienji one of the Managers, from the very first day he tailor made my stay to accommodate my MIL and my one year old son! Thankyou Kienji!!!!!

The rooms were the most spacious and exceeded the 5 star standards ; with air conditioning, warm showers , beautiful bathtub and the BLACKOUT CURTAINS were the best thing ever! My baby could nap anytime.

, if I am right Thomas cleaned our rooms for the 3 weeks we were there he was respectful and thorough.

The grounds are beautiful, hidden lush green blooming plants, enjoyed the massive heated pool that was kept exceptionally clean! It was quiet unlike most hotels in Nairobi that entertain too many parties at night!

The magic happens on the second floor! The Kijani restaurant and bar is a slice of heaven!!!! Thankyou everyone who made us feel like family ! !!!!!Julia and all the ladies and gentlemen on the restaurant are some of the kindest people I have ever met!!! !!!!

We enjoyed fresher brewed authentic Kenyan coffee and tea! The cocktails made you think of Bahamas and the food was always fresh and yummy! I miss the morning shots ( it’s an immune shot curated for ur health! ) don’t skip it during breakfast!!!

We had a few dinners up in the revolving restaurant and got to see the beautiful Nairobi in its glory!! The hotel is a walking distance to most joints in Westland !

Our last day was the hardest! We wanted to stay longer lol as soon as we got back to America we planned another trip to Kenya see you in...

If I were to imagine an extremely great stay that I had at the Movenpik Hotel and Residence Westlands, it would undoubtedly be a truly delightful experience, encompassing every detail from dining to comfort and hospitality. The culinary journey would begin at Baluba Restaurant on the 2nd floor. The food would be exceptional, a symphony of flavors and textures that tantalize the palate. Each dish, from local delicacies to international cuisine, would be prepared with meticulous care and presented beautifully, making every meal a memorable event. The ambiance of the restaurant would perfectly complement the exquisite food, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Beyond the dining, the attention to cleanliness and comfort would be paramount. The washrooms would be nothing short of sparkling, impeccably clean, and neatly arranged, reflecting a high standard of hygiene and care. This dedication to cleanliness would extend throughout the entire hotel. Upon entering the guest rooms, one would immediately notice the spacious and neatly arranged beds, promising a restful and luxurious sleep. The bedding would be fresh, and inviting, ensuring ultimate comfort after a day of activities. The overall room design would be thoughtful, providing ample space and a serene environment conducive to relaxation. Karibu I forget the welcoming and attentive staff around...From the moment of arrival, guests would be greeted with genuine warmth and professionalism. Every interaction would be marked by helpfulness and a proactive approach to ensuring guest satisfaction, making one feel truly valued and cared for throughout their entire visit. This combination of excellent food🍜, pristine facilities, comfortable accommodations, and outstanding service indeed made me enjoy my...

--Revised Review based on my 2nd visit-- My second visit to the hotel was a very pleasant surprise. Service level has noticeably improved since my last experience. All staff members were exceptionally helpful and supportive. A standout was Mr. Patrick, who I believe is a restaurant manager. He remembered me from my previous visit and informed me that my feedback had been taken seriously. He assured me that I wouldn't encounter the same issues this time, and I was pleased to find that his promise was true. I am therefore changing my previous rating of 3 stars to 5 stars :). ================== Overall, facilities at Mövenpick Nairobi offer a good experience with a great location, spacious and clean rooms, and a beautifully fresh ambiance. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about their services. The housekeeping staff often forgets to clean the rooms and ignore reminders. Restocking toiletries seems optional for them, requiring reminders either directly to the housekeeping staff or at the reception. After I complained, the service improved for a couple of days but soon reverted to the same issues. As a frequent traveler, I was particularly disappointed when the restaurant charged for ice—something I've never encountered anywhere else. On a positive note, the breakfast is excellent, and the food quality overall is commendable. However, the good elements of this hotel are overshadowed by the consistently sloppy service. In summary, while Mövenpick Nairobi has many attractive features, the lackluster service significantly detracts from the overall experience.

Our stay at Mövenpick Hotel & Residences Nairobi was nothing short of wonderful. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance and breathtaking views set the tone for an exceptional visit. The hotel’s aesthetic charm mirrored the beauty of its surroundings, creating a relaxing and luxurious atmosphere. One of the highlights of our stay was the outstanding service. Our server, James, was incredibly patient and delightful, elevating our dining experience and making it ten times more enjoyable. The food was not only delicious but also filling, making it well worth the try. With multiple on-site restaurants and bars, we were pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of dining options. The service at the restaurants was impeccable, which is why we confidently give customer service a five-star rating. The hotel’s location is another major plus. It is highly walkable, with easy access to malls and shops in the Westlands area, making it convenient for both leisure and business travelers. While we can’t control the behavior of other guests, we did encounter some unfriendly interactions at the front desk. However, this did not overshadow the exceptional service from staff members like Nelly Wanja Njoroge, a room attendant in training. Nelly went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, and we highly recommend that she be hired upon completing her training. Overall, our experience at Mövenpick Nairobi was fantastic. The combination of stunning views, excellent service, and a prime location makes it a hotel we would gladly return to and recommend to others.

A Memorable Stay at Mövenpick Hotel Nairobi - Aug 2023 During my recent trip to Nairobi, I had the pleasure of staying at the Mövenpick Hotel, and I must say it was an exceptional experience that left a lasting impression. From the moment I arrived, I was met with warm and welcoming staff that made me feel right at home. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the buffet breakfast. The spread was not only extensive but also incredibly delicious. Speaking of staff, their kindness and dedication truly set this hotel apart. From the front desk to the restaurant staff, everyone went out of their way to make sure I had a comfortable stay. Their genuine friendliness and willingness to assist with any request made me feel like a valued guest. The hotel's location in the centre of the city was another standout feature. It was incredibly convenient to have various eateries and convenience stores within walking distance. This allowed me to explore the local culinary scene and shop for essentials without any hassle. Additionally, the hotel's proximity to key attractions and business districts made it an ideal choice for both leisure and business travellers. In conclusion, my stay at Mövenpick Hotel Nairobi was a delightful experience. The combination of a fantastic buffet breakfast, exceptional service from the staff, and a central location made it a standout choice for accommodation in the city. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and convenient stay in Nairobi.
