We visited Ezo a few days after it opened, so we hope it can still get better.

Our first reservation was cancelled when we were about 10 minutes away from the restaurant as we were bringing a child along. We had discussed that during the reservation on the phone and they had specifically told us the kid would be welcome, which it turns out wasn’t. When we came back a few days later, no one acknowledged or apologised for this incident, which was a bit disappointing.

The food itself is good. It is not quite on a fine dining level, but still high quality and definitely top level for Nairobi. Unfortunately the service was abysmal. We ordered some aperitifs and a bottle of wine to go with the food. The wine was brought out first by a server we had clearly never opened a bottle before and was butchering the cork so badly we actually had to open it ourselves to safe it. The aperitifs didn’t show up until well into the first course. The staff also seemed to lack any understanding of the different courses, meal sizes, etc. There was definitely training missing there.

The atmosphere is a sterile “Dubai chique”, it is comfortable enough but especially the complete lack of natural light was a bit of putting for me personally.

Summed up this could be a very decent place to go to, but for now is still a work...

Visiting Ezo was one of the main attractions we had during our trip to Nairobi. We knew about the place well in advance and were quite hyped.

Maybe high expectations played a negative role here, though unfortunately they were not met. I mean, it was a really good experience and probably the best food we had in Nairobi in the first place, it just wasn't special or sensational, it was missing that small piece of magic that one might anticipate when visiting a place with Michelin star ambitions.

We tried a few starters, two mains and delicious seasonal cocktails. The drinks were top notch, I give it to them. As for starters, it was cool to see some fish. This is a truly rare beast in Kenya. Mains were ramen and red snapper with garnish.

Everything was tasty and so on, but it was not something I would blindly recommend and I am not sure now that the place in general is worth a detour if you know what I mean.

Also, someone from the staff was non-stop recording Instagram stories without asking our permission, that was a...

EZO is hands down the best pan-Asian restaurant I’ve ever been to! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with an incredible atmosphere that’s vibrant and welcoming. The decor is stunning—modern with lux elements that make you feel like you’ve traveled to another world.

Now, let's talk about the food. WOW! Every dish is an explosion of flavors! The nigiri is unbelievably fresh, the ramen is the perfect balance of savory and spicy, and the dim sum? Simply out of this world! Each bite was a celebration of bold, authentic flavors, but with a creative twist by michellin sheff that made it truly special. You can tell the chefs at EZO are masters of their craft.

The service? Impeccable! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help you navigate through the extensive menu. They go above and beyond to make sure your experience is perfect.

If you’re a fan of pan-Asian cuisine, or even if you’re not, EZO is an absolute must-visit. I can’t wait to go back and try everything else on the menu! 10/10,...
