The Crossroads Hotel — Hotel in Nairobi

This is a terrific hotel for the price. The rooms are large and very clean, complete with embroidered robes and towels. The staff is terrific. Erijah, the night time reception person, is incredibly helpful as are the two women who work the front desk during the daytime. The hotel entrance is a little confusing as it is technically located on the 5th floor. However, once you are directed there, it's quite easy to get around.|The hotel is conveniently located near the National Museum of Kenya as well as a number of great restaurants. We stayed here December 25th and 26th, and again Dec. 31st. (The fireworks display from our hotel room were amazing.) It pains me to write a negative review about this hotel because the staff were all nice, the bed was comfortable and the room was cleaned everyday. However, I was disappointed the TV only had one working channel and that channel only played commercials. Also, the water in the shower always took at least five minutes to warm up, and one day I found a roach crawling on my floor. However, my biggest complaint is that the hotel conceirge referred me to a tour company that ripped me off. I ended up paying $400 USD more than the going rate for a one night trip to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Incredible service, very clean and comfortable hotel! This is my second stay in Crossroads and I have had no complaints each time. I am a seasoned traveler and can say Crossroads is a Nairobi gem. The bedrooms are clean, modern, spacious and have wonderful views of the city. The service is top notch, with the front desk staff quickly attending to guest requests.
