We booked the Golden Hotel in Bishkek through Booking.com. From the outside, the hotel looks big, but inside it’s actually just one floor — still, it’s beautifully designed and clean. We booked two rooms for our family of five — they gave us one room with three single beds and another with two single beds because they didn’t have any double-bed rooms available at that time. The rooms are small but neat and tidy.
One thing I didn’t like is that they don’t have a Muslim shower in the bathroom — but this seems to be common all over Bishkek.
The best thing about this hotel is its location. Downstairs you’ll find markets, restaurants, and fast food options — it’s a lively area, which is nice because the rest of the city is pretty quiet and most places close by 9 PM. Only a few markets and restaurants stay open late or 24 hours.
Breakfast was just okay — they don’t have a buffet. They serve you at the table: salad, rice with hot milk, one fruit, jam, butter, bread, and you can choose what type of egg you want. Juices, tea, and coffee are self-service.
Overall, I’d still recommend this hotel for a short stay, mainly because of its great location and...
Read moreOverall is fine, but we had an issue with them because our room door didn't lock from the outside and after asking the receptionist to fix it (all our stuff was inside without safety box) she said they will fix it later in the day, that they have cameras and that nobody was going to enter our room. After all day outside we arrive late in the evening and the door was unfixed. We complaint again and they gave us a suite. But how come they are giving rooms in that condition to guests? and why do we have to complain twice? ||Also, I left my ring in the bathroom and I came back 3 days later asking for it (we were 300km away during that time without electricity, I couldn't call), it is a very particular and unmistakable ring, I even showed them a photo and described on detail, but they said that the cleaning lady did not find anything... then who took it? the only people that enter a room after guests checking out is the cleaning stuff, so...||And lastly, we found stains in the bathrobe and bedsheets.||Breakfast is good and more than...
Read moreIt was a good spot for travelers like me as it is nearly just a walking distance on everything but there are a few issues: staff do not speak English and they seem not very accommodating there isnt a lift or help for luggages to haul up 2 flights of stairs there was a day that water was nil for 6 hours and with that I didnt get any explanation on why its not coming. i came and the room is not available. they asked me to pay extra to get a "premium room". room key got defective twice. and on the second time i went down that flight of stairs to tell them, they said "check out?" when its clear i had another day. i didnt even have any photos of the room as i was not so happy. 😫😭
it actually dampened my trip as there isnt a friendly face at "home" or someone i can ask directions or whatevers. i hope they hire staff who can interact with...
