I stayed one night at Hotel Plaza in Bishkek and I do not recommend it. I chose this hotel specifically for its additional services, but almost none of them were working or available during my stay.
First, it was a hot day in Bishkek, and our room was uncomfortably warm. The air conditioning was not working. When I brought this to the receptionist's attention, I was told that the hotel doesn’t operate the AC in fall or winter and was advised to open a window. However, the hotel is located close to one of the busiest streets in the city, so noise from traffic made it impossible to sleep. I was told someone would check the AC, but no one ever came.
The staff was inattentive. The person responsible for assisting guests with luggage was watching TikToks on their phone instead of helping, so we had to carry our suitcases ourselves.
The Wi-Fi was not working at all during our stay.
I specifically booked this hotel after a hiking trip in Kyrgyzstan because it advertised a sauna. At check-in, I was told the sauna was open until midnight. When I went to use it, it was completely cold and clearly unused for days , even showing visible mold on the ceiling. The receptionist had no idea and only after a phone call did she confirm it was broken and wouldn’t be fixed until the following week.
I also requested a gluten-free breakfast box for an early flight. Despite clearly specifying this, I was given one containing regular bread. At that point, I didn’t have the energy to ask for a correction.
The safe was not working.
Overall, the staff was disengaged and not welcoming. They appeared indifferent to guests and the hotel's operations.
To be fair, the pool as open, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the location is convenient. Parking is available in front of the hotel, though limited, you may need to park on nearby streets if it’s busy.
If you're looking for value for money, reliable services, or even basic hospitality, I strongly recommend considering other...
Read moreI wanted to share my recent experience at a hotel in Bishkek and provide some feedback. As a former hotelier myself, I understand the importance of excellent service and customer satisfaction.
Unfortunately, my stay at the hotel was rather disappointing. I feel compelled to suggest paying a slightly higher price to stay at either the Ramada or Novotel, as they offer a much better experience. The lack of willingness to accommodate requests was quite surprising, as in my experience, a good hotel should never say "no." However, at this particular hotel, I encountered several instances where the answer was simply "no."
To begin with, there was no assistance provided with our luggage upon check-in or check-out. Furthermore, I encountered difficulties charging my mobile phone due to the absence of sockets in the room. The receptionist's response to this issue was unhelpful, as I was told to go and purchase a charger myself.
Additionally, the breakfast offered was far from satisfactory, with cold food being served. The overall attitude of the staff members, except for one gentleman who displayed exceptional service despite having a plaster on his head, left much to be desired.
To add to my disappointment, there was a senior staff member who influenced the entire team to adopt a negative and unaccommodating approach towards guests. I believe that this individual should no longer be a part of the management.
Consequently, I chose not to return to your hotel for my recent stay, opting instead to pay an extra $145 to stay at the Ramada. I sincerely hope that you take this feedback into consideration and work towards improving your service. It is my belief that unless significant improvements are made, it would be best to consider closing down the hotel altogether.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Read moreread all the reviews recently and about to complain the same.
booked for two different ocassion. the first, ofcourse they send me to their sister hotel, Discovery. their reason is they are having problem with the AC. the receptionist promised me "Discovery Hotel is a very good hotel. with the same 4 stars like Plaza. and we will give you excellent Junior Suite room for 40usd only" actually i dont care about the size of the room. many booked for the location. but after being sent away in Discovery, i found out there is no such thing as Junior Suite Room. best room they gave gotta be Deluxe.
ok, move on to the second booking ocassion
2 days later, finally checked in and got room in 807. waited for 4 hours but the AC still not working. technician came and said, the AC is not working. I tried to close the window as well for 30-45 mins, none. They move me to 702 and still the same. woke up at 7am because the room got very warm due to sun. had no energy to move, spent 2 nights in a warm room. put "make up my room" but ofcourse no one cleaned up everything Receptionist is surely not well trained. Had my atm card lost inside the machine. She said she will give a call to the bank and ask is it possible to take it out. waited for 30 minutes, asked twice, and ofcourse she forgot
