Read moreWe went to Navat twice (one week apart), so this review is based on the cumulative experience.
We were impressed the first time, but less than impressed the second time. The problem is with the consistency of food.
We ordered several things: soups, breads, sashliks, teas and lemonades. The soups, breads , teas and lemonades were pretty good consistently.
However, sashliks were not edible. The meat was VERY tough and/or dry (chicken, beef, lamb). They are among the most expensive items on the menu, so it was a big downer.
The service was mediocre. The first time around, we received a menu in English. The second time around, they told us the menu in English was not available, so we spent some time trying to decipher Russian.
The waiters appeared consistently surprised by what we tried to order. They acted like they were seeing the names of the dishes for the first time, though we were pointing our fingers on the menu to order...
Overall, I would be more forgiving and understanding. However, Navat charges premium, so I at least expect the food to live up to...
Read more⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ After our trip to Al Archa, we visited Navat Teahouse for a late lunch and had a wonderful experience. Navat Teahouse is a popular spot in Bishkek, known for its traditional Kyrgyz cuisine and warm, inviting atmosphere. The decor is vibrant and colorful, featuring beautiful traditional designs that create an authentic cultural experience.
We ordered fried manti (dumplings filled with meat), plov (a classic Central Asian rice dish cooked with meat, carrots, and spices), chicken breast salad with white sauce, and lemon and mint tea. The food was delicious, with each dish offering a taste of local flavors. As a special touch, they served us complimentary shots of Ayran, a traditional yogurt-based drink that is both refreshing and slightly tangy.
The servers were very polite and attentive, adding to the overall great experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to experience Kyrgyz cuisine in a cozy and...
