I stayed in two different rooms on the 1st floor, one twin room, later a single room and both were very clean and had all the amenities including a fridge, kettle, TV, desk etc. The bathroom had the heating turned on even end of August so that towels etc. could be dried, and it's just very cozy when returning from a walk at the beach (100 m) when the weather gets colder at the start of autumn. The staff was absolutely lovely, speaks English (and other languages) and always went the extra mile for me, e.g. earlier or packed breakfast, various tea bags and Latvian sweets, bicycle rental, description of walking routes etc.||The internet worked best downstairs near reception.||It's located in a quiet street with a view of other quaint buildings and trees, breakfast was in a heated area in the garden.||I don't know what mid-range means regarding price, but staying at this hotel is excellent...
Read moreOld hotel with an interesting interior and exterior design. We were set off at the locked gate in front of the main entrance in torrential rain. Noone answered the bell by the gate but a phonecall revealed another gate on the other side of the house and front door was open. Then we waited for someone to show still completely soaked. We got a funny suite (room 10) which was ok but not very big. The shower heads in the bathroom needed a thorough cleaning but worked. Breakfast was included but took place in a conservatory. Good coffee and very simple buffet. During our stay it was extremely cold, windy with heavy rain and thunder and heating in the room was not working.
