8 Lounge Cocktail bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Riga

Really disappointed.

First thing that went wrong was the waiter took my order then rather than bring my drink to me, it was left on the bar for 10mins, and they only brought it to me when I managed to get their attention and ask them. No apology.

Then I waited a long time for the food to arrive, which was a bit concerning as it was mid-week and not very busy.

When the food arrived, it was missing a key ingredient (the potatoes with a steak and potatoes dish!) and the steak looked like it had been cut in half before putting on the plate.

I gave it the benefit of the doubt and returned the dish asking that they add the potatoes. The waiter took the plate, no apology.

Finally, after another long wait the dish arrived with cold and practically uncooked potato plonked on top of the dish.

At this point I called my losses and paid for my one drink and left. The waiter was annoyed with me rather than being apologetic.

As for the atmosphere. Could have been good if they hadn’t had some kind of rented space with a games party of some sort. No problem with this except that there was music playing on the main sound system and occasional loud blasts of different music from the private party - really clashed and made everyone in the place turn around in surprise.

I really can’t think of any reason to give more than 1 star across the board and I do normally look to find...

Never have I ever wrote a 1 star review. We have traveled all the way from United Kingdom and have read the great comments about the lounge we really wanted to try it. *Considering we do have all vaccination and QR codes. Came to the door and the door was shut. Working hours of this place till 2am every day. I have called the lounge and the lady on the phone stated that “the lounge is open only for takeaway” this was at 23:00pm. We decided to get a cab and go to another restaurant that is closing soon. However, as soon as we turn around we see two ladies wearing heels and looking all glammed up leaving the lounge. As soon as they left two more ladies (on the picture) looking all glammed up called the buzzer and someone has let them in. This was such a shocker for us this is not right. The place is open for public but not? As a tourist coming to Riga the capital of Latvia to see such a disgraceful situation we were very disappointed! Do not recommend to anyone! Update from January 20:

A Year ago we had an issue with the table reservation. You replied that this was not your fault, because we didn't specify which exact table we would like to reserve. Now we made the reservation by phone of the exact table and your staff confirmed that and guess what? Again we didn't get what we reserved. So the customer/booking service is absolutely useless.

Table reservation service requires improvement. It was reserved in advance, but no one told us that the restaurant is overbooked or something like that. In result our table, I assuming, was occupied and at arriving they offered a table in the middle of pass/dance floor. Other option proposed - a table in cigar room, where you will be fully isolated of restaurant atmosphere. So we leaved this place and decided to spend our money in place with better service.
