Let's start with the fact that it is not a hotel but a hostel and it is very primitive. We informed the "hotel" that we would arrive at 10pm which normally is not a problem, and actually the lady at the reception was waiting for us, we checked in and got the room number and information that the key is in the door. the lady added that if we wanted to go out to the city it was only through the back door through the back room. after entering the room it turned out to be a joke. recreation for two people with information about the private bathroom towels, cosmetics, etc. we travel a lot on small luggage so we do not have space for a towel so it is important to us. in the room a bed with a sponge instead of a mattress and one small pillow, no towels and anything of the things mentioned in the booking, in the bathroom one big fungus which translates into a smell throughout the room, full of cobwebs (the girl has arachnophobia) so we already know that this place for it is unacceptable. interesting things are still a skylight that does not close. So I go to the reception desk and it turns out that it is closed with all triggers, no one is open, only the back door with which anyone who wants to enter from the street enters. he writes to the hotel but the answers are laconic no one wants to take responsibility jets info that someone will come bowl an hour we make an appointment if no one is there for 15 minutes, I will leave the hotel. And so I do at 23:30 when booking another facility, the hotel says 15 minutes later saying that they mistook the rooms and proposes compensation, but I am not coming back. after all, he apologizes and writes that I have to contact booking for a refund. after all the action, the booking claims that the hotel said that everything was ok. The hotel did not cost a property because it was 76 euro (2 nights), but it was about the location due to late arrival because there are better facilities at this price. So I do not recommend that someone likes to dive with a mushroom on the ceiling,...
Read moreI have no idea why Well Hotel is listed as having 3 stars. It was well below the standard it claims to have. Where do I begin...||||- The photos of the hotel are clearly old, as the room I had was very much in disrepair compared to these.||||- When I got into the room I realised the light didn't work. A maintenance guy had it fixed in a few minutes, but when he took the fitting off, a pile of dust and dead flies fell onto the floor (he didn't offer to clean it up). There was also a bit of a weird smell, maybe damp, which I had to cover up with perfume.||||- The window hadn't been cleaned for some time, and the blind didn't fully close.||||- The shower head was not attached to the wall. This obviously meant you had to hold it in one hand and wash yourself with the other, which made shaving a nightmare. There was mould around the shower and on the tiles too.||||- The toilet didn't flush well. Had to give it a few goes at times :/||||- There was damp on the walls and peeling wallpaper. In certain areas of the room, such as around power extensions, there was embedded dust. The cups the bathroom hadn't been cleaned thoroughly.||||- The WiFi was intermittent. During my 4.5 day trip, it was on for 2 days max. ||||- The TV in the room didn't work. When I asked at reception they said that the rooms didn't come with TV included. This is not as described on their listing, which states that TV and cable are indeed part of the facilities.||||- The hotel is poorly soundproofed. Thankfully there wasn't much noise through the evening, but you could hear conversations from other rooms clearly.||||- The listing also says there is a wardrobe, which there wasn't. There were two hangers on the wall, a dressing table (not a desk, as listed), a bedside table and something that I think may have been a fridge but couldn't be turned on, so I'll never know.||||- The door/locks aren't very secure. It wouldn't take much for someone to quietly (and easily) break...
Read moreIn the morning I sent a mail via booking.com to the hotel if it's ok if we check in in the evening as my plane arrives at 8 o'clock p.m. No answer. The Bolt Taxi driver said he didn't know there was a hotel there. Ok, no problem I thought. Arrived. Front door closed only a sheet with mobile number. Walked around the building and saw an open door. Entered. All dark. Heard noise out of a room an knocked. Old Grandma comes out and know nothing. Showed my booking.com bill. She called the owner. The owner said give them a chamber. Entered the chamber. We were shocked. No toilet paper. Went downstairs to grandma, got toilet-paper. Bedsheets dirty. No soap. All dirty. Went downstairs again. Grandma locked the room and ignored us. Check out the pics and stay away from that nightmare. This was the worst hotel in Riga I had so far and the most expensive. I waited with writing that to calm down. Now discussing...
