When we arrived to the hotel on 17.05.2022 at 00:30, the employee on reception gave us the keys for the room and asked us to fill in arrival information and that all, didn’t gave us any information about hotel, what is including, breakfast time etc. Next morning I went down to reception to ask, when I supposed to pay for room, the lady on reception said that I will need to pay when we check out. I said alright, thank you:) two days later happened following situation , we went to explore Latvia and returned around 23 o’clock back to hotel, but our keys for the room didn’t work, we were locked out! We went down to reception to find out why our keys didn’t work, nobody was on reception, so I tried to call a few times to a number which I had for the hotel, but nobody answered, so we started to search for any employee at the hotel, who could help us. Anyway, after 20 mins of searching came some guy (looks like he is security). We explained him the situation, but maybe the fact that he was smelling with alcohol. He couldn’t understand what he was supposed to do in this situation. After 10 mins random searches of reception desk he handed us random keys and asked to check if they work, obviously they didn’t work, so we came back after 5 mins more, cue more pointless searching! He decided to call someone and the guy on the phone told him that he can open our doors with his key. So this “Security guy” opened our doors after 30 more minutes of wasting our time. Next day I went to reception to find out why our keys didn’t work, the guy on reception said that we hadn’t paid for the room. I told him that lady on reception said we need to pay on check out. So I decided to write a complaint, twice I asked if someone is dealing with my complaint, guy on reception said that complaint is in process, but 7 days later I still didn’t receive any answer to my complaint. This whole experience was horrendous, we were so tired that night we got locked out which really put a downer on the rest of our stay. few other points to mention: other reviews state that the breakfast was really good, I think these people must be the management! As I can categorically tell you that the breakfast was the worse I’ve ever had. plus the coffee machine was broken for the majority of our stay and when it was working it spat out just milk …...

The hotel is located in the old town. From the inner corridor I could see the Latvia Academy of Science tower, a skyscraper from 1951. Great as landmark to navigator back to the hotel after you’ve been out strolling. It is also very close to the river. Opposit the hotel is an old church, very nice view and usefull as a landmark from a distance👍 The reception is modern design, its very clean. The breakfast hall is small and very cosy and offcourse also clean. The room was in modern design with a lot of wooden detailing. The room was spotless! Om very happy with my choice of hotel.👍 The Staff was so nice and friendly. We felt very welcome. The serivice was quick and efficient. Im a foodie. Breakfast for me could be an outstanding meal. That is a pleasure for both the eye and the taste buds. Breakfust could be more international, just a suggestion. The patterns of movements intersect each other several times, a problem when theres a lot of people. For example you have to pass the coffemachine to get to the plates. When you wait for the coffe you block those who wants juice etc. When you making a sandwich, first you have to get the plate (and passing the coffe station). The cheese and ham are opposite each other with a big pillar in between. The plan solution is unnecessarily compicated. I suggest you change to a more streamlined planning of the different stations for food, beverages, coffe, plates and cuttlery. I understand it’s a small place. To place the food around a big pillar should be avoided. Maybe put some seating there. Ask an architect:) But this is kind of insignificance. The coffe and espresso etc...

Good choice relative to the price: Good Rooms were OK. Nice view from the window over Church of Jesus. WiFi worked very well in my room and was stable and consistent throughout the entire stay. Staff was friendly. There was a kettle in the room with coffee and tea bags, haven't tried it myself, it's a nice touch though. Breakfast was OK for the price, they have a limited but a good variety of options. I rate their croissant as 1/5 so don't bother with it, other dessert items were a bit of a better taste and quality. Not so good: Rooms are relatively clean, except few spots that have been covered with dust (for example bathroom area). Also, bathroom area had a single ceramic plate that was broken and made a noise every time I've walked over it. Trash bin in a bathroom was very unstable, so whenever I tried to open it up with my foot, it would move instead of opening the cap. In the main room one of the bedside light bulbs wasn't working. Also, it wasn't possible to configure lighting in the room to make it dimmer or lighter, there was only one mode - on or off. Comfort wasn't the best as fridge was making quite a noise during the night. I've also had a neighbor that was running marathons for a few hours non-stop over my head (though this is not a fault of the hotel, but beware that it will be audible). Location is not ideal, as it's quite far from main attractions, but if you don't mind walking a bit or prefer it like I do, it can be of a good value compared to other hotels in the more popular areas.

Quiet and convenient location, being close to the bus station. The price was also quite affordable, which was a definite plus. We also found the breakfast selection to be good. However, our check-in experience was far from smooth. We had to wait quite a while for our room, first we were given a room with a single bed despite having booked and confirmed a room with two separate beds in advance. We were initially told they could reconfigure the bed in the assigned room, but this turned out not to be possible, and we were eventually moved to a new room. Unfortunately, our second room presented its own set of issues. The door was difficult to open, almost as if it had suffered water damage and swelled. Inside, the walls were noticeably dirty and dusty, maybe it was mold, which we certainly didn't want to touch. Furthermore, the shower gel and shampoo dispenser was completely empty. When we requested it to be refilled, we were told it would be done later when staff returned, but to our disappointment, it remained empty even when we returned to our room in the evening. While the quiet location, affordable price, and good breakfast were appealing, the room mix-up, waiting time and the condition and lack of amenities in our final room greatly detracted from our overall experience. It's tolerable for one night, but for a longer stay, I'd definitely choose somewhere else.

I chose this place especially because I had an early morning bus to catch. The hotel is very close to the bus as well as the train station. It's a short tram/bus ride away from the city center. Regarding facilities, the hotel was perfect. There's an elevator, the neighbourhood is quiet. They had a breakfast option too which I couldn't avail of as I had to check out early the next morning. I was impressed with the size of the room. Clean, comfortable, spacious with a TV, closet, work desk and even a small fridge. And the price was very reasonable. Even though the facilities were exceptional, I wasn't impressed with the staff which is why I couldn't give it a higher rating. There were two receptionists when I arrived. One of them was speaking to a customer over phone for more than 20 minutes while the other one couldn't check me in. The entire process took half an hour when it could have easily been completed in 10 minutes. Since I was the only customer around at that time, I didn't appreciate the unnecessary waiting after a long journey. I wish the staff were more pro-active. Other than this, absolutely no complaints.
