Perkuno namai — Hotel in Kaunas

Good points;||Staff seemed polite enough but seemed to ignore everything we told them. They helped us in and out of the hotel due to the parking fiasco. ||The staff spoke English ||||Bad points;||The Hotels parking was ripped up so we couldn’t park with the trailer. We had to detach it and chain it to a tree in the next street. When we had done that a local bloke came over and told us we couldn’t park it there. We told him it was staying there and to complain to the hotel if he didn’t like it. He did and the manager politely told him to go away its public land. When we finally got to our room it was like a sauna it was 30 degrees. ||The following was wrong with the room: ||A light was permanently on in the bathroom could not be switched off the toilet seat was loose, heated towel rail in the bathroom was on all of the time despite it being 30 degrees c outside. There was no way it could be turned off. The Air conditioning was not effective; it was very hot this is why I booked the hotel because it had A/C and parking neither of which we could use during our stay. All the above was reported to reception. When we came back the 2nd evening we where told everything had been fixed, we got to the room and NOTHING had been fixed ||Also we told reception to make sure the cleaner leaves our second room key in the card slot or the electrics would go off. Because we had a fridge plugged in. when I returned to the room because I forgot something I found the cleaner had been in and had done exactly what we told them not to do. Luckily I found this before all the food and medication could have gone off. But still this is annoying and shows the hotel have no regard for their guests. ||There are a large number of steps down to reception this hotel is totally unsuitable for disabled people, we can walk and these steps nearly killed us. There is a very steep ramp but to go down it in a wheelchair would be suicide. That’s if you could actually get on it due to the overgrown plants. I could only just get my suitcase on it. The water at the hotel looked dirty. Breakfast ok but they did not get gluten free bread in like I requested. ||DEFINATLEY...

Just simply “feel at home” place!

I can't describe enough, how wonderful services are in Perkuno Namai. Few years ago I was staying there with my family and experienced most exceptional time. Starting with unique setting of the hotel in a private oak park you enter serene and elegant amenities. The rooms are not overcrowded, spacious and tastefully decorated. The restaurant is a charry on the top! Menu and presentation is just divine! Ingrida, the owner, is a winner of multiple International Awards and that reflects abundantly in the meals she and her team creates. We enjoyed it with passion! Just recently I ordered celebratory meal with delivery for my elderly father. The service exceeded my wildest expectations! Multiple course meal was delivered on silver platter to my father's home who described it as a "King's meal". He was beyond happy! Perkuno Namai will be the only place I am staying when I am in Kaunas. It is not just a place we remember, it is an experience we will cherish forever. Thank you kind people in Perkuno Namai! We are coming back next month! Highly recommended!

Despite some previous bad reviews i had a good experience at this hotel.||||I didn't have a car but found it quick and easy to walk to the city centre. You walk through the park then down some steps and you're in the centre in about 15 minutes.||||The hotel is in a nice leafy residential area and it was very quiet at night. The hotel has nice gardens where i sat out with a beer in the evening. It was peaceful and relaxing.||||The room was very spacious and had a large balcony which overlooked the gardens. ||The weather was hot and humid during my stay, but the air conditioning in my room worked fine.||||Reception staff were friendly and helpful.||||The only disappointment was breakfast. I arrived at 08;30 and there wasn't so much food left, especially the hot dishes.
