Park Avenue — Restaurant in Kaunas

We came as a group of six. One person received their meal — a duck salad — about 15 minutes after ordering. Everyone else was left waiting. The remaining four meals were brought out about 40 minutes after we ordered, which meant one person had hers food sitting in front of them for 25 minutes, unable to start eating because she didn’t want to eat alone.

About duck salad - the greens were all either bitter or wilted, and although the menu mentioned blue cheese, it was barely there (you could hardly taste it). The three blackberries and three raspberries felt also more like decoration than actual ingredients worth listing in the description.

To make things worse, the sixth person’s dish was simply forgotten — though, they prepared it quickly once we pointed it out.

We also ordered the "steak platter" (€68), which ended up being just two small pork steaks — something a single hungry man could easily finish. Before ordering, we specifically asked if it would be enough for three men, and the waiter confidently said yes. In reality, the portion was tiny and the price totally unjustified for what you get, especially considering it was pork.

The service was unpleasant and unprofessional.

The food was good, the main dishes were delicious, dessert was disappointing, dry and not very interesting. Overall dinner experience didn’t WOW us. Wine list is limited, the staff doesn’t have any wine knowledge so we had to do the research ourselves. It wasn’t very busy, so the service was prompt and we didn’t have to wait for anything. The staff as really nice and friendly also. We hated the massive flatscreen TV in the main dining room, I guess it’s good for sports games etc, but on a Friday night when there’s nothing going on, either keep it turned off, or pick something according to the atmosphere. Seeing half naked ladies on the beaches of Rio is not really something that goes well in a building with historical value and a somewhat fine dining restaurant. Also upon making a reservation you inquired if it’s a special occasion- which it was- was never brought up by the staff or acknowledged in any way, so maybe don’t ask if you are not going to make an effort for the people choosing to celebrate in...

We had dinner with friends. The environment was beautiful and tidy,it was an interesting place. The service could be more attentive, it would be nice if the staff asked about the food while customers are still eating, as there would definitely be some feedback. The food was average. I had burrata, which had no flavor – very plain, even though there were plenty of ingredients. The octopus was quite good, prepared properly and not rubbery. The dessert was small, but I liked it.
