The hotel provides excellent service, with friendly and helpful staff who are always ready to assist. This creates a warm and pleasant atmosphere throughout the stay. The location is also a strong point, being conveniently close to a shopping mall and offering a beautiful ocean view that adds a relaxing touch to the overall experience.
However, the quality of the room falls short considering the price, which is around RM350 per night for a room with two super single beds. One of the main concerns is the bathroom. There was visible mold, and the shower setup was not ideal. The shower is positioned directly above the bathtub, which means guests have to shower while standing in the tub. This type of setup can be inconvenient and potentially unsafe, especially when there is no proper ventilation or drying system in the bathroom. After a shower, water tends to dry very slowly, making the surface of the bathtub and the bathroom floor slippery for a long time. The lack of ceiling ventilation or a drying fan only makes this worse. Not everyone is comfortable using a bathtub in this way, especially since filling the tub for a proper soak takes time and is not practical for most guests. On top of that, water also leaks from the bathtub pipe when the shower is turned on, likely due to poor plumbing maintenance. Additional issues include a clogged sink that drains slowly and a toilet that does not flush properly.
The room itself is smaller than expected for the rate. That said, it does offer some useful amenities such as a mini fridge, a water heater, a safe box, a small table and chair, a working television, and religious books like the Bible and Quran. These features are appreciated, but they do not fully compensate for the issues with the bathroom and the general upkeep of the room.

Read moreThe check in process was easy, but a little too easy as in I was not shown what direction to head to get to my room, what floor it was on or even where the lifts were. Check in staff were pleasant enough though. I eventually found my room and it was ok. For an "executive suite" it was way below par, but for a normal double room, it would have been fine. Decor was very dated but sufficient. I didn't particularly like the wooden flooring, but that's a personal choice and it was clean so hey ho. The biggest issue I had was I could only find one plug socket, which was nowhere near the bed and it appeared to be very loose in the wall. The 2 x USB sockets on it were handy, but only worked when they wanted too. The room phone did not work so I had to go to reception to order room service. On that subject, I ordered a pizza and it was delicious. I genuinely loved it and it was delivered piping hot. The downside was the guy who delivered demanded cash only (which was not stated anywhere in the room service menu) and I did not have enough cash on my so, much to a bemused look from him, I charged it to my room. The shower was over the bath which was a bit dated but was decent enough. The bath mat was a bit shabby looking so did not use it. The towels were clean and fresh. The bed was very comfortable and I did have a couple of good nights sleep. I did nit try the restaurant in the hotel so cannot comment. Overall, it is a decent hotel that could be doing with a facelift, but it was OK. It is located right next to a shopping mall which, being honest, is worth a miss, but that's for a...
Read moreParkCity Everly Hotel is one of the largest and most luxurious hotels in Bintulu at the time of writing this review.
The hotel features a spacious ballroom, a simple yet comfortable outdoor swimming pool overlooking the sea, with one side shaded by a large tree, and a decent in-house restaurant (although I opted out of breakfast). There’s also a well-equipped gym with both weight training and cardio machines.
The rooms are comfortable, with a bathtub that’s great for soaking and relaxing. The bed is on the firmer side, but still comfortable enough with its soft pillows and linens. Upon check-in, the floor felt slightly sandy, which could be improved.
All the usual hotel room amenities are provided, including coffee and tea-making facilities, bottled water, toiletries and towels, an iron and ironing board, indoor slippers, a mini fridge, a prayer mat, hangers, and more. The TV operates on MyFreeview, offering local channels along with a few extras like Cinemax, AXN, Discovery Channel, KBS, and some radio channels.
One of the biggest advantages of this hotel is its location—right next to The Spring Shopping Mall Bintulu—and the back area opens up to sea views with the impressive Jepak Bridge in sight.
Overall, a comfortable and satisfying stay, with great facilities and an...
