Booked to stay here under government's service order with my staff. It was night time when we arrived after a long journey from Kuching, we weren't greeted and briefed upon our arrival, no in-house rules, no briefing on breakfast, other services and facilities. All have to figure out on our own. I had to ask our room's level and the breakfast time when the receptionist passed us the keys to our rooms. ||I advise future guest to be alert on the inventories in the room as you might be framed for damaging their properties. Not everyone is attentive about what's inside the room and what not, I was lucky to be aware on the notes the hotel put in my room when i checked-in, unlike my staff, which was compounded for smoking in their room during our checkout. ||While we admit the wrongdoings, we also expect some explanation from the management regarding their services. Unexpected, we were even threaten by the GM if my staff refuse to pay for the compound just because he has connections with the government. He even ranted on us for spoiling his beautiful day just because he has yet to having his breakfast and came late for work. What kind of management is this? Is this what u called a 4 star hotel service? Not to mention he took off his mask during this pandemic just to show us he is a smoker too. At that point, this is beyond the smoking issue now, it's more like customer services and crisis management. To add on, no housekeeping came to service the room even when my staff put on the sign. ||Was really dissatisfied on how we were treated by the hotel. Talking about pandemic time, i do not encourage ppl to book here as they accept ppl for quarantine, that's okay for me but what's more dumbfounded was that all the rooms in the hotel are inter-connected. Which means air can still travel between rooms, which increase the risk of other in-house guests. ||The only good thing I can point out is the F&B Team, kudos to the team. At least they were polite and friendly when serving us...
Read moreHad to quarantine at this hotel for over 10 days. The corner room was very spacious with a nice sea view, great for daily sunsets. Lots of floor space for exercise. ||Room was airy as the hinged awning windows could be marginally ajared. The Shower and Toilet area a little small with no Tub.||Staff were very helpful. Good service on call.||||Roof top smoking area with a shallow water feature was open to smokers. The water feature/pool maybe used for toddler waddling but not really suitable for an adult swim.||||Downsides: ||Poor TV programs, with no Astro- local sat tv,||Food: was piss poor since it was a quarantine package. Stayed at 4 different local hotels on quarantine packaged and this was the worse. Even the a la carte food was poor. Being on the vegetarian menu, hardly any local green salads were served. Eg: B'fast was roti canai with baked beans as a dip; plain nasi lemak with baked beans.||Lunch: Battered fish was soggy; salads with overkill of thousand island dressing.||Mostly served carrot bits, peas and canned corn (all likely frozen); ||Repeated b'fast and lunch was the same Vegetarian fried rice.||Daily Fruits was only either red apples or yellow pears.||||One can order food delivery from food panda.||||Wifi - was provided for free but experienced time outs every morning which made working...
Read moreWhat a great hotel. I only have positive things to say. The staff are all super friendly and do their utmost to assist you. The place is immaculate, modern and very clean. The rooms are well fitted out, everything you might need. The bed is so comfortable I wish I could take it home. As I was working during my stay here the desk and chair were ergonomic and easy to work from for a regular days work. Breakfast which was included in my package was good but compared to other places perhaps offered a little less of a choice, but still plenty to enjoy. Fresh and tasty which at the end of the day is what you want. The facilities include a gym, conference rooms, a rooftop pool though not deep enough to swim in, but looks nice! The deck are is very pleasant to sit and relax. Theres a rooftop eatery and bar where the food is very good value and well presented best it actually tastes good too. The menu isn't extensive but a good variety. The bar offers a good range of tap beers and even include some more special beers and of course plenty of bottled beers to choose from. They have function rooms up on the rooftop too which seem to be booked out each night. Though the hotel isn't disturbed by them. They seem to all finish by 10pm. The location is reasonably central a quick 10 minute walk and your in Bintulu...
