WARNING. This review will be very long.
The Check-In experience was BAD. I booked a short 3-day, 2-night stay on Agoda for my parent. They checked in around 4:40 PM, but the receptionist, M. Shafiq, ALMOST KICKED MY PARENT OUT of the hotel due to an argument. He claimed the booking was only for one night, even though my parents showed the booking email clearly stating a 2-night stay and PAID RM145.69. Strangely, he still handed over the key card and allowed them to check into the room. My parents were tired and assumed the issue had been resolved.
The room smelled bad, mixed with a strong fragrance that seemed to be used to cover the unpleasant odor. Luckily, the bathroom had an exhaust fan to help clear the air in the room. Didn't expect much since this is a budget hotel.
On Day 2, when my parents returned from being outside, the receptionist called them out and told them to check out of the room as the issue had still not been resolved. Otherwise, they would have to PAY RM120 per night. What was most ridiculous was when the receptionist, M.Shafiq claimed they hadn’t received any payment from Agoda because the hotel no longer had a contract with them. This was strange, considering the hotel is still listed on the Agoda website.
I contacted Agoda Customer Service to reconfirm the booking and report the issue. The representative called the hotel, but the staff hung up mid-call and didn’t answer the next three calls. I eventually gave my parents’ number to Agoda for follow-up.
Another hotel staff member finally spoke to Agoda. It turned out there was a backend issue between the main management, the hotel, and Agoda — something that was NOT RELATED to the customer. However, in the end, we still had to pay RM120 to the hotel for one night and now need to follow up with Agoda to resolve the matter.
Note to Management: The receptionist, M. Syafiq (foreigner staff), was very rude and checked my parents in under the wrong name (a different customer from a February booking), also mishandled the situation poorly and ALMOST KICKED MY PARENT OUT...

Read moreI called twice to confirm my check in. The first hotel staff (a chinese lady) asked me, what time that I prefer to check in.I asked her whether it will be ok to check as early as 12. She said ok, no problem. A day before my check in, I called again to confirm whether I can check in at 12. The staff (a malay man) told me that I better check in at 2pm because there is a possibility that the room will not be ready at 12. Then I said ok, will check in at 2pm. Please make sure my room is ready at 2pm.
When they day comes - I arrived at the hotel at 340 pm. While doing my check in, I was told that my room is not ready yet. I was really furious. The receptionist didnt even say sorry. Then I went to my room - the bed ia not done yet. I had to wait for 10 minutes outside my room. Then I finally got to enter my room, the toilet was not even cleaned properly.
