On Kee Restaurant 安记楼 — Restaurant in Johor

Came here with high hopes but was met with "new year pricing" on 24 Feb lunch. (+$x for every dish) Took a simple kampung chicken and vege soup. The chicken was OK but for 25 ringgit, the vege (spinach) soup had very little spinach. Taste for the food was nice and I thought they did a very good job on the fried rice. I'm the kind who appreciates the simple things done well, so the only thing that's a put off is just the portion of vege and the "new year" pricing. Hope the bosses stop this practice because honestly there are plenty of other restaurants that don't do this especially after so many days past the lunar new year. Quality of food have dropped since the last time we were there ( last year). We ordered the sweet & sour pork which was quite bad as the pork was not crispy with quite thick coating of flour. The so called HongKong Kailan which we ordered stir-fry was cut into 1 inch size & tasted more like the local KaiLan. We also ordered tbe crab meat tofu but came out as mashed steam egg with tofu. Nice Chinese food with pleasant ambience. They have a large variety of dishes for selections. Tastes of their cookings are flavorful and yet not too salty. Waitresses are friendly and efficient. They know what are best to recommend to their customers as well. Parking is not a problem here as they have many parking lots available nearby. A very good restaurant for an enjoyable...
