Eight Days Boutique Hotel @ Permas Jaya — Hotel in Johor

This is the second time I stayed at this hotel. I booked the same room (Platinum King with Jacuzzi Facility) again because this room is one of the ONLY 2 rooms (for 2 persons) that come with windows.||||I write this review 2 months after the stay because I'm only allowed to review the same hotel again 3 months after my previous review. In my previous review, I commented on the cleanliness of the bathroom and it was responded positively by the hotel saying that they will look into it. However, during my second stay, it was very disappointing to find that the bathroom has become even more dirty; more stains on the same places, especially on the wall behind the sitting toilet (see the photo). ||||What's even worse is that there is no communication between reception and cafeteria. When I made room reservation through phone call, I requested for 2-person breakfast to be included. Upon checked-in, I made full payment. However, the next day morning, when my girlfriend and I finished our breakfast and about to leave, we were stopped by one of the staffs impolitely who thought we dine and dashed, and as a result spoiling our morning mood. The hotel name is not the same as in the bookings detail, they are still using the previous hotel signboard, which is confusing for us to find the hotel.

The aircond is malfunctioning, it'll turn off itself every one hour, this has affected our sleeping quality, because we need to keep on wake up to turn it on, we are pretty sure that we have turn off the timer button. Not only this, the aircond is very difficult to control, the aircond is not cold at all even though we switch to cooling function, we only figure out how to make it cool on the last day throughout the 3 days 1 night staying. Very disappointed and disrupted.

The jacuzzi is old and requires maintenance. All the function button is broken and can only be use as a normal bathtub, which is different from the advertisement. Bad experience.

The bed shape is weird, never seen this kind of bed before. It's like a horizontal rectangle, which the head is located at the wider side, the width is longer than the length. People with height more than 170cm will need to put their leg outside the bed.

Exceeded expectation for a budget hotel.|1. Ample parking is available in front of the hotel with security guard watching. Police station is in the same row.|2. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. We checked in really late and called to reserve and Mr Philip helped with the extra room access card request. Fast check in & check out.|3. Good security as access card is needed to access room floors in the lift.|4. We booked a room for 3 pax. Room window facing inside the complex (empty space which houses some drinking joints). Sound proofing good hence quiet room. Bathroom extractor fan is quite loud so you'll need to turn off to ensure proper quiet environment. |5. Basic amenities available in room: flat screen TV, kettle for hot water and 3-in-1 coffee, mini fridge and safe, hot water, toothbrush, shower cap.
