Speechless and in awe by the hospitality that we have received at Cameron Highlands Resort. Initially, we were skeptical if we were overpaying as there were many other more affordable options. However, we have read great reviews and decided to try it for ourselves. We were impressed!
Service: Impeccable service from housekeeping to service staff... The whole team demonstrates their dedication to service. The warm greetings whenever we return from our sightseeing, the warm towels and tea when we first arrived and how they make us feel at home - home away from home.
Special Mention: I would like to specially thank Ravi for his warm smile and amazing personality. My 7yo daughter keeps raving about how much she likes Ravi because he is so polite. I would also like to specially mention Kirtan who always makes sure we are well served during our meals. My hubby enjoys his conversations with him.
Quality of Stay: Perhaps the hotel may be older than many newly sprouted hotels in Cameron, but if you are looking for a place that has a cultural edge to it, then this would be an excellent choice. I was worried at first as well since I'm travelling with kids and my elderly mother. However, we were all impressed by the cleanliness of the rooms and the way our rooms are always made up when we go out for our activities. The housekeeping staff made sure that we were not disrupted and like the story of the elves and the shoemaker, they always clean up quietly when we aren't around. Whenever we leave our rooms, it will be in a mess. When we return? Viola! The room is clean and fresh again!
SPECIAL memories: My kids would definitely remember the fire lighting experience as well as the daily fish feeding experience. They had the chance to light up the firewood at the fire place and we received a surprise momento that warm our hearts like the crackling fire... The koi fish feeding was what my kids looked forward to every day after breakfast.
Food: I'm actually very thankful that breakfast was served to us amid the rising covid cases. It gives us a greater peace of mind that guests are not handling food by ourselves in a buffet line. The pastries especially the croissant is our family's favourite. Please do give Gonbei a try for the steamboat experience! Some may find the price on the pricier side but honestly, if you want to have an amazing and relaxing evening, Gonbei should be on your list just so you can have the wholesome experience of steamboat at Cameron Highlands. The service staff are very attentive and it's really a great place to round up the day. To wind down, you can also head to the lounge for drinks. My daughter is so impressed by the pianist that her dwindling interest in piano was revived with this trip. _
Read moreI and my husband came back to Cameron Highlands after our first visit 35 years ago. We certainly had a lovely experience at Cameron Highlands Resort mainly because of the great staff - everyone were so accomodating and made our stay pleasant. Strengths:Quaint and Colonial setting of your Hotel which brought back old memoriesGreenery and Quiet and peacful environmentAccessiblity - we could walk out and go for a walk around the place Staff Friendly and very approachable staff who attended to our requests immediately and made sure we were comfortableHousekeeping staff gave us a pleasant surprise by making a beautiful towel scupture of 2 love swans on our bed - though we are an old couple we were certainly touched by this gesture. The staff made sure our watter bottles are filled every night and one evening when we came up ... we were suprised to see that one of the staff got our beds ready for the night and kept the water bottles and ear plugs next to our bed and had the blinds down. The staff at the restaurant made sure we had a pleasant dining experience on all our 4 days. They have a cheerful disposition and always checking on the guests if they are alright and they seem to take so much pride in their jobs. One of the staff made sure we had sandwiches served at our room when we arrived late for tea and did not have lunch. He also served us at the Chinese restaurant on our first night and made sure we got a place even though we did not know or forgot we had to make a reservation. A special mention about a staff …Mr Santosh who went an extra mile to ensure I was not deprived of my Indian food and arranged for the chef to cook an Indian meal I craved for (of course I had to pay for the food but the extra effort that they made to prepare something that was not in the menu …which was what touched me) He was always checking on us that we were alright. He gave us a pleasant surprise on our last night by asking us to light up the fire place and we felt honoured by this tradition and we were further touched by a surprise gift of a framed up photo of us lighting up the fire place. Front Desk :Kimie the front desk manager led a great team making sure we had a pleasant stay - attended to all our requests including a change of room and they attended to all our queries and even made suggestions as how to navigate the HighlandsThings that could be improved:AmenitiesWe certainly hope there will be a lift or an escalator or even a ramp in future. They must take into consideration of older guests or some with medical problems like knee pain or unable to walk up stairsSpa - a refreshing and calming experience but slots are quickly taken up – maybe they could have more staff to meet the popular demand. Food at the restaurant:Menu could be improved There are not many selections for both breakfast and other meals …could consider including...
Read more3D2N trip: truly memorable experience! Having arrived rather tired due to school holidays traffic, we were greeted warmly during check-in with a welcome drink and smooth check-in experience. We then proceeded to the afternoon tea: live piano, excellent dining experience, super friendly staff... made us forget the standstill/crawl traffic experience very quickly. The rooms are neat and immaculate, with everything in excellent working condition. Very comfortable bed, great water pressure for hot rain shower, cooling ceiling fan, nice views onto the golf course. The entire hotel is really beautiful. Just walking around the premises, we were quite struck by the beauty of the interior. Fish pond, gym, spa village, etc. Lots of casual areas to sit and chill, including library with fireplace, bar area with pool table, etc. The area feels safe, comfortable, and truly relaxing. Also tried the dining - Western restaurant, hotpot, tea room. All really great. Not cheap compared to others in the area, but the quality is really outstanding and worth it if you are willing to splash a bit. Both the food quality and the ambience. Breakfast that comes with room booking is great too! Very filling, flavourful, relaxed. Do try the spa if you like this sort of experience. Very skilful, great communication, and super relaxing. No joke: best one yet - and we have tried various five-star hotel spas before. But what made this experience truly world-class (and we have visited various five-star hotels before) is the staff. They genuinely make you feel welcome and cater to your needs but without being overbearing. Special shout-out to Ravi, Santhosh, Emily, Kirtan at dining who made our dining experience exceptionally enjoyable and restful; Anji, Chloe at reception who answered our questions efficiently and kindly (and also arranged a late check-out!); Khadag, Debindra at concierge who always gave a warm greeting; Najiya, Arika at spa village who took great care of us; Hossain, Myint at Gonbei hotpot who made sure we were well-fed; and Madi the resident naturalist who gave an interesting commentary on the area and its stories (you can sign up for a guided afternoon walk, included in hotel charge). Appreciate the culinary staff too who clearly put a lot of thought into the food, but sadly we didn't get a chance to meet them. Would VERY VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you are looking for a relaxing and holistic luxury holiday.
Just one thing... important lesson learned: beware of traffic from Brinchang to Kea Farm!! We learned after arrival that it is incredibly jammed during school holidays. Better to visit on weekdays if you can. And, of course, best to drive yourself since there isn't much public transport in and out...
