DreamScape Apartment @ Golden Hill — Local services in Pahang

We booked this apartment homestay from the Agoda website after reading some favorable reviews about it online. The apartments are located in Barrington Square at the brand new Golden Hills neighbourhood which is only 3km out of Brinchang in the direction of Tanah Rata. This is also the new location of the famous Brinchang Night Market. However, we did not get a chance to experience this as the market is only in operation during the weekends, and we were there only from Monday to Thursday.

The apartment itself is really good. Clean, spacious, with two bedrooms with a queen bed in each, a living cum dining room and a basic kitchenette with microwave oven, kettle, multipurpose cooker and refrigerator. There are also spare mattresses and pillows should there be a need.

We also liked that there was a secure basement carpark with access only via a tap card. There was also a well stocked grocer just downstairs where prices were extremely reasonable.

The downside was that there was no wifi provided and mobile data connection in the area was also very poor. So we basically had to survive without Internet access for our time there, which might actually be a good thing as it forced us to do things as a family and not to be glued to our devices...

Great place, huge value! First time stay here, a very pleasant surprise. The apartment is quite spacious: living room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen. Can easily accommodate 4 people with 1 double bed and 2 mattress sets, which makes staying here quite affordable. Very clean and nice minimalistic decor. Nice view to the hills too.

Most importantly, the location is one of the best around the whole area! Downstairs got kiosks, restaurants, and a liquor store, and the night market is run right in front of the building.

Excellent choice especially for backpackers and others who love hiking. It's only 3km to both Brinchang and Tanah Rata. And to get a fancy breakfast or brunch, The Smokehouse is just 1+ kilometers away.

Their lobby is in another block. It looks very cool for the decor part. Also, the staff is very nice.

Most likely we'll end up staying here many more times in the future. We had a great 2-night stay! 😍

The only shortcomings were that the WiFi didn't work even if the front staff proposed a another solution, and that the kitchen sockets were busted. Could work around both issues, no problem. Perfect...

Upon arrival at Block A, the stench of urine at the Basement carpark lift was unbearable. We literally had to hold our breath but to my dismay, the lift was no better. Along the corridor to our apartment was very unkept and looks a little rundown. The apartment microwave decided to shut off after using it for 9 minutes. So the food that I have prepared had to be wasted ( I usually prepared home cooked food and freeze it). My mother is not a fan of eating outside food for 3 consecutive days. However, the location is nice and there's night Market here which is good to get fresh vegetables. But the sad part was again the microwave could not be used and when informed the reception and a so called technician came and told me it's working despite explaining the micro6can only be used for x period of minutes. So we gave up and did not want to waste my breath. Definitely will not...
