We had dinner at this Chinese restaurant located in the shoplots near the Golden Hills Weekend Night Market. After walking around in the rain, we were cold, tired, and just wanted a warm meal. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, so we decided to sit down and give it a try. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be quite disappointing. When we tried to order braised chicken with bitter gourd, we were told it’s only available as a whole chicken and would cost RM50. That immediately caught us off guard. There were photo menus on the wall, but none of them showed any prices, and we had no idea the dishes were only served in such large portions. With just three people, a whole chicken was far too much, so we decided to skip it. We ended up ordering sweet and sour pork (RM25), bitter gourd omelette (RM13), stir-fried romaine lettuce (RM13), and tofu with preserved radish (RM16), along with white rice and drinks. The total came up to RM86 us. Here’s where things really got disappointing. When my rice arrived, it looked normal at first, but just as I was about to start eating, I noticed a small piece of green plastic inside the rice. I was honestly shocked. It was clearly something that shouldn’t be there. I just picked it out and continued eating because we were tired and hungry, but it really affected my impression of the place. I also had hot tea, which was served in a cup with visible stains. I only noticed them after drinking, and the tea had a strange taste—possibly due to the water quality. To be fair, the food itself tasted pretty good. But when hygiene is an issue—especially finding a foreign object in the food—it’s hard to feel comfortable. It honestly made me question the kitchen standards. Only after we had finished our meal and left did we notice there was a printed menu placed outside on one of the tables. But even that menu didn’t show any prices—just a list of dishes. That explained why we had no idea about the RM50 chicken earlier. It would’ve helped a lot if prices were clearly stated upfront. Overall, I really hope this restaurant improves in terms of cleanliness and transparency. The food might be tasty, but things like foreign objects in rice and unclear pricing make it difficult for me to recommend this place.

We decided to try Uncle Paul Steamboat despite its low ratings because we were too lazy to go out and look for food, especially after noticing they had vinegar trotter on the menu. At first, the service felt indifferent—the waitress seemed uninterested. However, one of the lady staff members turned out to be quite thoughtful. She warned us to be careful in a dark area where moss made the floor slippery. Even though she was mostly focused on her work, we appreciated her concern. A nice touch: if you order Chinese tea, they serve it in a big jar. The vinegar trotter was really good and worth trying. However, the Muey Cai Kou Rou was just average—there’s room for improvement. The fried vegetables were decent. One thing to note: if you’re not a customer, using their toilet costs RM1.50.

I went to this shop at cameron highland golden hills. This lady in yellow was super rude. When my mother go inside the shop she was like “Hello, excuse me” with a rude tone, then my mom asked her if she have kuey teow basah then the lady replied loudly “mee mee xda nasi putih saja” with an attitude. The customers inside the shop all was looking at us. Very bad service. I hope this lady deserves what she does to anyone like this. I will make sure to let my people know and not to visit this restaurant ever again.

Dined here in a group of 12 on two tables, we thought of the convenience since we just finished shopping at the night market despite the lack of good reviews. True enough, our dining experience here was terrible.

The food was so so, though the soups we had lacked flavours. Also our first time having steamboat using paper bowls and plates. We were told by the waitress to get our dipping sauce from the service station, which we acknowledge and took turns to go.

While I was taking the dipping sauce, I overheard the conversation of the lady (I presumed the owner) telling off her employee for pulling out a few sheets of tissue paper. Only to find out that request came from a relative of mine at the table. She then came to our table and rudely told us off (that serving tissue papers is not something the staff are told to do). This would not have happened if we were well informed. And perhaps proper signage should be placed to avoid confusions.

I would not recommend this place unless you enjoy the convenience of its location or the customer service...

The food is expensive and the portion is so small. i had to go outside to order more as spending inside is really not worth it. For the price paid for the food, the taste is not even that great. There are also flies everywhere.

Not only that, the staff is also very rude. that time i was there i witnessed a female staff yelling at a table of customers. it was so loud im pretty sure the entire restaurant can hear her shouting. i lost my appetite and left the restautant.

moreover, the customer service is also very bad. the wait is long, the staff don't really pay attention to my orders and got it wrong multiple times. They even charge their customers to use the toilet that was not even that clean. Honestly, the toilet in the mamak restaurant near my house has a cleaner toilet than this.

Definitely will...
