I recently stayed at Playside Residence in a three-bedroom apartment (S2-3A-03), and I must say, the experience was extremely disappointing. Despite its advertised standards, the residence falls short in multiple areas.
First and foremost, the facilities are clearly ageing. The sofa in the living room was worn out, uncomfortable, and looked like it hadn’t been replaced in years. This made the entire apartment feel neglected and run down, making it impossible to relax and feel comfortable. The overall vibe of the place screamed poor maintenance.
One of the most frustrating aspects was the lack of basic amenities. For a three-bedroom apartment, there were no toiletries provided—none at all. Not even basic essentials like shampoo or soap. Additionally, no mineral water was provided, which is an absolute necessity in most accommodations. It was shocking to see how little effort was put into guest comfort. The apartment felt far from user-friendly, and it’s clear that they’re cutting corners on guest satisfaction.
The water pressure in the apartment was another huge letdown. It was so low that taking a proper shower or even washing hands became a hassle. It’s baffling how something so essential could be so neglected. Clearly, the management isn’t paying attention to maintaining the basics, let alone offering any level of luxury.
The parking environment was another serious issue. The parking area was extremely dark and felt unsafe, especially during late hours. There was insufficient lighting, and the whole area felt like it hadn’t been updated or maintained in years. It’s a major concern for anyone who prioritizes safety and convenience when staying at a residence. The parking definitely needs a significant upgrade.
Finally, the balcony area, which could have been a nice place to relax, was just another disappointment. It was dirty, unkempt, and clearly hadn’t been properly maintained, making it impossible to enjoy any outdoor space.
Overall, Playside Residence failed on all fronts. From the old, uncomfortable furniture to the lack of basic amenities, poor water pressure, and the dim, unsafe parking environment, the entire experience was far below expectations. I would give this place one star and strongly advise anyone looking for a comfortable stay to avoid it. You’re better off finding a more reliable and well-maintained...

Whatd I like : Staffs were very helpful Walking distance to Pasar Malam Golden Hills. 5 mins drive to tomyam restaurant. 7 min drive to OOTD at mall. 6 mins drive to Masjid Abu Bakar and Masjid Kayangan. 7 mins drive to fill up your petrol at Petronas / Shell.
At the ground floor, there's Arabic restaurant, Steamboat grill, My News, 99 speedmart, 7E, and other groceries you can easily to buy without stuck in a traffic jam.
Whatd I dislike : i) Sink litte bit of mouldy. Would suggest to brush once a week. ii) A very nasty cigarette butt wastes on the balcony. I wonder why no one bother with this kind of thing. This may cause a fire hazard.
Light alongside the corridor. Basement parking is not that eerie. Pak guard is everywhere. they will make sure you are safe.
Inside the apartment, you will see basic amenities : LCD TV ( plug your USB ) Electric cooker rice rooker refrigerator hair dryer water heater microwave Kiblat direction which is good for me.
Theres a heater in a bathroom and a gel body wash / hair wash. Both are working perfectly fine.
Mind you theres no : Internet Astro Breakfast
OVERALL : Would definitely to come here again. Place is totally relaxing. But if you are the type of traveler who prefers to browse internet while sitting on a chair and watch television, this is...
Read morePlay Residences are homestay units in an apartment complex that is known as Barrington Square in Golden Hill development; an area between Tanah Rata and Brinchang. It is probably not a bad location to consider staying in while visiting CH with your family. On Friday and Saturday night, part of main access road just outside of the Apartment is where the Brinchang night market is. So it can get congested during that time.
The 2 bedroom apartment itself is ok - large and clean enough. There are tv, wifi, kitchen utensils, iron and ironboard, etc. Towels are provided but do bring your own toiletries. There are signs of wear in the apartment but nothing that should mar your stay. For meals, you may have to consider Brinchang or Tanah Rata as there are less choices hereabout. There is a 99Speedmart at the Ground Floor. Self-check in is practiced and instructions will be relayed to you via whatsapp. RM100 deposit is required and needed to be bank in. You will get a private parking space at the basement and the building is...
