I was so displeased with my stay here. The prices were excessive if any residents would stay here but it's the average price per night one would pay I'm US. First off when we arrived we had paid for two different rooms. Mine was very easy to find and they had everything ready to go. We arrived about 3 hours before check in time but they gave us our room right away. The second room my sister had booked it two nights before our arrival the receptionist asked my sister for her card and attempted to swipe but my sister had a foreign transactions blocked on her card. However she had already paid for the room and the reception is still attempted to charge her a second time for it. Then he looked through the paperwork and found her reservation which had already been pre paid for. We went up to our room and thought the rooms would be as updated as the lobby. The rooms were a bit run down and could use some serious decoration, they didn't feel cozy at all; 2 beds, 2 headboards, a TV, TV Stand, a chair and that's it. we decided to have lunch at the hotel which also features a casino for what you have to be 18 years or older. The restaurant told us we could grab lunch at the bar area or upstairs in the lounge however when we tried to go up there there were no tables servers or anyone who could assist us. I asked one of the people who work there if anyone could help us order some food and he very rudely asked if my nephew was 18 years or older and disregarded my question completely. Since no one seemed to know if we could order some food we decided to leave somewhere else and have lunch. At night before going to sleep I did not inspect the bed and in the morning when I woke up I noticed it was a big yellow spot on my blanket. As we were picking up our belongings we found a box of open condoms in the back behind the TV stand. I was so disgusted because now I didn't think that the room had been effectively cleaned or sanitized since they did not find that box. Before checkout we decided to go grab breakfast out of the hotel and when we came back and tried to open our door with the key arkies have been deactivated even though it was an hour until check out. Well the counter I did notice there was a couple of other people complaining about the same issue. I wasn't sure of the room numbers that I had and the receptionist gave me keys for two different rooms when I went up to try to open the door the receptionist had given me a key to the wrong room a room that was not mine it had other people's belongings. I think this hotel should really pay attention to this more because now I felt scared that somebody else may have had access to my room well I wasn't there. I would definitely not stay here again. It's one of the sort of reputable hotels in Tijuana I will definitely not be...
Read moreBack at Hotel Pueblo Amigo Plaza Casino for round two, and it was just as great! This time, I stayed on the busier Friday before Labor Day, and the place was packed. The team was clearly hustling with the crowd, but they still delivered excellent service. Got upgraded to a Junior Suite on the ninth floor for a small price difference—worth it! The suite was a step up from the standard room with better views, a faster WiFi connection, and extra toiletries like a shaving kit, shoe polish, and more. Plus, they had a Samsung smart TV, which should honestly be standard in all hotels.
Check-out is a breeze at noon—just drop the keys in the box, and you’re good. Loved the bag check service, so I could explore without dragging my stuff around. Ordered the Original Burger with skinny fries from room service—delicious, but it came wrapped in plastic (I get it, but still). Shoutout to the staff for keeping up with the holiday rush; make sure to tip if they’re vibing with you! Definitely coming back!
—————————————————————— My first time in Tijuana. Staying at Hotel Pueblo Amigo Plaza Casino made the experience even better. The staff is absolutely incredible—so nice and attentive. I read previous reviews before my stay, and I’m happy to report that most concerns have been addressed. Waters are provided, and the place is well-polished. My room was on the third floor, facing El Centenario, offering views of the border and the hotel’s casino sign—totally a vibe at night! WiFi access and a smart TV for streaming were available, making my stay comfortable. Although I was offered a top-floor room, I preferred a renovated room, which was perfect. Extra blankets in the closet, clean and organized restrooms, and great water pressure made my stay even better. No mini fridge, but it wasn't needed. Shout out to Ulises and the staff for taking great care of us during our stay....
Read moreI have mixed feelings about my experience at Hotel Pueblo Amigo Casino. I was super excited to see that the executive rooms allowed for an early check-in and a late check-out, as I had to work remotely while there.||||I found that the rooms were fantastic, the only thing that seemed to be missing was some sort of fridge. There wasn't a way to keep things cool, and if there was an ice machine it wasn't super obvious. The room was clean, and the amentities in the bathroom more than covered my needs.||||The things that I had an issue with: The website states that there are canapes and drinks available from 5am -7pm. The actual time for this is 5pm-7pm. I must have checked several times before calling finally and being told it was PM. At 5:15 pm or so I ventured over to the lounge again and there was still nothing set out. Staff seemed confused about my questioning of the food and beverages, but then were able to get me a menu and I placed an order after about a 15 minute wait. Food was fresh and the drink was really good. I would imagine that perhaps before Covid food was set out like a buffet, but there was nothing out at all. Not even beverages like water, etc. I did not see anything going over there for breakfast the next morning, and honestly it felt like so much effort the night before that I felt bad so I didn't push it.||||The last bit of frustration was in the check-out situation. I received a call at 11:30am asking me if I was ready to depart by noon, and the staff seemed to be unaware that their website says that check-out is by 3pm for Executive rooms. My key stopped working at noon and they reauthorized it, but I had to run back downstairs for no reason, and then back up again. ||||For $185 a night I...
