Casa Cielo Cancún — Hotel in Cancún

I stayed for 8 nights. Let me explain what to expect. If you are looking for a traditional hotel experience then this isn't it. If you're looking to be left alone because you're introverted like me then this place works.

The pros: wifi, clean room, privacy.

Location: easy walking distance from the mall and Walmart express. The park is right at the end of the street. There is an oxxo convenience store 3 mins walk away and several pharmacies nearby which is a big deal if your're here for dental work like me.

Food: You are very close to several restaurants. First time visitors to the area will feel very comfortable at Cafe Nader and Los Tarascos.

The drawbacks for some will be the level of privacy. Your room doesn't get cleaned while you're here. This doesn't bother me as I can take care of myself. I just take my own trash out and make my own bed like a normal person.

One minor complaint is that if you show up and the cleaning lady isn't there you'll just have to stand outside till she shows up. Having a phone number posted outside to contact the owner would be useful. The cat is the full time concierge.

The biggest complaint is the bait and switch tactic they use to avoid paying credit card processing fees. When booking online they take your card number and explain how they will charge for cancelation. Which shows that they can process your card if they feel like it. However, when you show up they insist on you paying cash and lie that they don't have the ability to...

Pros Location. Rooms, hotel groundsThe location is about 5-10 min walk to the main area of downtown with all the shops and markets. The property was very well Kept and clean. My room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable. The pool was a nice bonus after exploring all day. The property has a front gate so it made the hotel feel very secure and safe at all hours. Overall no issues with the hotel itself. Cons Communication and checkin I waited outside the gate for 40 minutes to check in because no one was at the front desk. I tried to call with no answer and ctrip also tried calling with no answer. When I finally saw got checked in the man on the phone said I absolutely did not wait that long and he has just talked me to (he did not). There was no apology for the wait or anything and it came off like that fact that I waited so long was a lie (I do have my conversation with the ctrip agent where we talked about both of us not being able to get ahold of the hotel). I had also asked them if they could help me order a taxi for 4am. The man responded and when I asked to confirm price he didn’t respond for 4 days at which point I had already checked...

We booked two nights with a late arrival, booked an airport shuttle, were picked up and taken to an unknown hotel were we were told we would be picked up at noon and taken to our proper deluxe king size room, only to be left at the other hotel, we then had to take a taxi off our own expense to the property were we were made to wait till after 3, then we were provided a small double bed room with a street view of a construction site... Upon requesting our booked room we were told we would get a 7 dollar refund for the "inconvenience", we called booking.com to attempt to be relocated but were ignored and dismissed.
