This place is absolutely DISGUSTING!!! They gave us a room on the 3rd floor which was not cleaned at all. I found lots of hair everywhere on the floor, shower, bed. After my intervention they gave us another room on the 2nd floor. I checked and the floor was semi-clean (still some pubs on the floor - absolutely gross) and I discovered there were pubs in the bed after lifting the duvet!! They do not change linen at all!! I immediately asked one of the cleaning guys who I met on the corridor to change our bed and I pointed all those hair to him. He knew what was going on, he offered to change it right away. I have never seen anything like this.. the room was dusty, the bed was worst quality linen. The management of this place replies to all negative comments using the same copy paste messages which only proves they don't know how to run a good hotel. There is about 30 people employed by this hotel who hang around, have private conversation by the pool, having their lunches in the middle of the lobby and bothering guests (walking in front of guests who rest by the pool and staring, then dropping some jokes to their colleagues) They clearly hate foreign tourists here. We did not feel safe here! This place was the dodgiest place we've stayed in the whole Mexico. Bad representation of Mexican culture and they should be ashame of themselves. The front desk gave us the worst service, first pretending they didn't speak any English and then once confronted about the room not being cleaned they suddenly started speaking fluent English. In front of me they made some nasty comments about me in Spanish. I don't recommend this place and I hope whoever reads this will be advised to spend their money in a...
Read moreYou can't lap swim in the pool. Photos are misleading. About 2/3rd in the length of the pool there are stone barriers all across, separating the kids area from the deeper water. In all the photos I've seen it's been hidden and I think on purpose to make it look like the pool is bigger. When you stand at the pool those stones are easily visible. ALSO, Forget about being able to sleep soundly on the weekends. Super loud music from outside plus the fact that it's on a busy street anyways, makes it impossible to sleep well. Also forget about being able to sleep in late in the mornings all week. The cleaning crew, which is amazing and the reason this isn't a 1 star review, is working and banging on the floor above you and the rooms next to you. Knocking on doors in the hallway sounds like they're knocking on my door. The entire time I was there I heard knocks on doors. Very annoying. ALSO, the WiFi is very problematic. First day I was there it wasn't working. 3 nights during the week I was there it stopped working all of a sudden around midnight. Breakfast isn't really breakfast. It's cereal and some muffins. That's it. And if you wake up too late, all muffins are gone. Last thing, I asked if I could check out at 1pm instead of 12pm and they said I had to pay for an extra night. If you don't have a choice stay there, but don't...
Read moreWe stayed at Hotel Bonampak for 4 nights last week. The hotel is in a great location. Away from the hotel zone full of spring breakers but close enough to catch a bus or taxi to get to where you want to go. We had a king size bed. Great shower and water pressure. Hotel was clean and staff were kind and professional. I didn't get any of the free breakfast since it was carb city but my husband enjoyed a pastry.||||Only complaint is that housekeeping went into our room the second day we were there when we had "Do Not Disturb" on the doorknob. Normally this wouldn't bother me but without a safe in our room and having our passports in our luggage, I did not appreciate the disregard for our clearly noted preference. I let the front desk know that we didn't want our room cleaned until we checked out and I am happy to report our request was honored. ||||Lastly we didn't use the pool since I read it was not heated and also, to be honest, it was filled with dudes at almost...
