Receptionists were professional and spoke English fluently. My Marriott Bonvoy status was recognized and a room upgraded was automatically provided without us needing to ask. We got a suite room on the 5th/top floor with a nice partial lagoon view. We love the room! The hotel works with airline to host the stranded passengers, so depending on the time of the day, many times we saw very crowded lobby (They also get lunch and dinner included at the restaurant Wyndham Garden hotel). Breakfast (M-F 6:30a-9:30a. Sat-Sun 7a-10a) was decent. Good variety of choices between hot food, pastry, drink/juice, fruit, etc. The breakfast staff was friendly and professional and they kept the food replenished. I had a large ($500 Peso) bill that I was hoping to break down to smaller bills, however, the hotel didn’t have change to offer the breakdown exchange. Most other Marriott hotels I stayed at would have enough bills in hand and offer the exchange service. I Hope they could improve on this. Hotel front desk can help you to call a taxi. One way fare to Cancun airport is $25 USD. Once called, it will arrive in 5-10 min. The taxi driver had a white uniform on, and the car had AC. There are several restaurants nearby within walking distance. There is also a little alley/trail behind the hotel and can get to the back side of the street (has a few more restaurants). Plaza Las Americas is also within a short walking distance. Love the mall! There are many mini buses that stop in front of the hotel. And to catch the R1/R2 bus to the hotel zone is also very simple, it’s only a short walking distance to catch the bus (12 Peso a person). We didn’t see a bus stop, but when we flagged the bus, they stopped and let us on. We felt very safe to walk on the main street even in the evening. Walking to/from Parque de las Palapas is also a very pleasant walk and there are lots of restaurants and souvenir stores on the streets. If it’s not too hot or you don’t have a lot of luggage, walking to/from the hotel to ADO bus terminal (1.5km) is also very doable and is an easy walk. Not sure if this is a problem of Cancun or the hotel. We had some postcards (had stamps already) wanted to send out, we asked the front desk to see if they can help us to give to mailman, but the female receptionist we asked was a bit shocked and said they don’t offer this service. We were a bit shocked as other than Panama, we had not encountered this issue before. Not very fast internet ~2MB-6MB upload & download. But was enough for web conference call without lagging.
Overall, it’s a good hotel and we will for sure consider staying again in the future and will recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a stay...
Read moreWent and flew to Cancun saw the Marriott Hotel online And thought it was interesting to Stay there so we decided to give it a try first things first let's start with the positive aspects of the stay at the Marriott hotel Number one the interior of our room looked like the Sloane Square Hotel in London It had really nice curtain designs and the sheets were smooth as a baby's bottom ( extremely smooth) now let's get into the more juicy negative parts of the stay at the Marriott hotel number one the room smells like smoke and it basically smelled like someone just took a barbecue on an airplane and the room smells like smoke and smelled like someone just took a barbecue on an airplane and started cooking mesquite grilled cheeseburgers and s'mores
If you want to decide to stay at the Marriott Marriott hotel That's on you If you just wanna stay here for one night Or at least a week That's based on your opinion at the hotel we went and ordered the hot chocolate The hot chocolate was really good. Five stars If I could put 10 stars for the hot chocolate At this hotels review website I definitely would Definitely would come back here for the hot chocolate again We also ordered the fish tacos And they were really good the pizza was amazing. It tasted like all the ingredients were fresh from Italy fired in a woodfired pizza oven it tasted so fresh I am not kidding Overall, the food was amazing even though the hotel smelled like someone just barbecued a cheeseburger on a mesquite grill the pizza was so good that I would definitely come back for the margarita pizza and the margarita pizza is great for kids and the strawberry ice cream is a must have for...
Read moreWorst hotel room I’ve been to, thinking this was an international hotel I have high expectations. But the storm Helene, made the room flooded for God sake, I’ve been traveling the world for almost 6 years now and never experience anything like this. Walls are mostly wooden, even the wall that is facing outside with the window has few concrete. ||What’s make this experience worst is the service, they just cleaned the room one time. It flooded 4 times, I cleaned the room thrice. The last clean requested wasn’t granted. I even asked for the manager, Veronica, she came and just saw the flood and said they’ change our room and give us one complimentary night but she never get back to us. She said someone will clean the flood as well but no one did. We went down to the lobby, after 3 hours of waiting, and she saw, but she did not say anything like nothing happened. What kind of manager is that, I request her to be suspended. She can’t be managing an international hotel like that. I’ve experienced some scenarios in Peru at Hilton hotel in the restaurant but the manager was really good in handling the situation. And they were too kind. But in this hotel, seems like they don’t care at all. I asked for the manager’s name she just gave us her name and never said anything so we called guest service once again and asked for Ms. Veronica, the manager to go to our room, but no one came again the guest said she is not in the front desk so he asked me to wait and I waited but no one came up. Worst...
