El Caldero... I was craving a good caldo, for a long time. Found this place, and immediately could tell something good was happening in there because it was completely packed.
I ordered a beer and with it (complementary) came the biggest bowl of nachos and salsas I’ve ever seen in my life. That alone could had been a meal.
Went to the “antojitos” section of the menu, to start out slow. So for 30 pesos I ordered fried plantains. What did I expect for 30 pesos? Maybe 3-5 pieces but they come and bring me a whole plantation 😅.
Now I’m nervous, not only I ate the entire bowl of chips but now I have a massive plate of fried plantains. I did what I could and ate as many my stomach would allow. Then lord behold, the caldo arrives. I’m not prepared for this... I had to find inner strength, I had to be strong. Then they bring me a plate of chips with beans, avocado and lime and at this point I’m just in a food coma. Then they also replace my empty bowl of nachos with a new one and at this point I’m just about to collapse.
So, long story short, the restaurant is good, clean, trendy, portions are huge and prices are right.
Five Stars for El...
Read moreI don't know what happened. The first time I went to the place everything was great and wonderful. Recently I visited the place and it was the worst place to eat. The meat I asked was cold and stiff. They even put a kind of plant that made me be ill. My stomach started to hurt next day. My partner asked for a chicken soup. It was horrible. The chicken had no taste. It has an odd consistency. The orange juice was bitter. I don't know what happened to this place. Last year used to be wonderful. Now it's a shame it still there. I should be fined for that. Many people come here to spend a great and delicious time, but what we got? My partner and I went to the doctor next day. The doctor said we were intoxicated. Be careful...
Read moreIt is said because me and my partner we loved this place. Delicous big protioned meal for a really good price with excellent service. But just one late night visit has turned everything upside down. At the end of february we came there for pozole verde and we, as usually, ate salsa verde with totopos. And that was the bad decission of the day. We both had serious gastrointestinal problems. Which are more serious for me and even today I am not ok. I had serious salmonella and e.coli infection which damaged my gut. I was thinking about to write this review for a really loong time, really. So if you wanna go there do it before the end of a day and don't touch salsa verde and highly probably pozole verde. Anyway enjoy...
