This was perhaps the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel. I do not use "worst" lightly. ||||The rooms are bare, the walls are cracking and the paint is peeling. The bathroom sink was falling apart and the shower curtain was missing in a super tiny bathroom. The screen door was missing most of it's screen and the air conditioner was old, filthy and couldn't even cool down the very small room we were in.||||Both mattresses were old and thin and the pillows were hard. The sheets were threadbare and mine had what appeared to be cigarette holes burned through it. The headboard had these decorative wood pieces that would turn and sounded like a goose being choked to death every time I turned over. ||||We couldn't sleep at all because of the kids partying in the rooms around us and sitting in the table right in front of our room. I asked politely for them to keep it down (at 2am) but they were drunk and either didn't understand or didn't care. The reception lobby was closed, so there was no one to talk to about that. ||||The curtains were so thin that you could see right into the room and we felt like we were in a fishbowl. The 3 or 4 channels on TV (since we weren't going to get any sleep until the frat house passed out) were barely watchable.||||When dawn finally broke we all decided to just leave the hotel even though we had paid for another night. As soon as we could check in to other place, we fled. It sucked that bad that I wouldn't even take the time to complain or ask for a refund. Thank God this place was inexpensive. ||||About the only good thing this hotel has going for it is it's central location and there was wifi for me to find another hotel to stay in...
Read moreWe were looking for a cheap and central place and found los arcos. Most places in the current season were around 150-200 usd/night. Los arcos was around 40USD - even cheaper than hostel beds. After booking we got nervous as the reviews here were pretty harsh.
However, we just returned and were pleasantly surprised
Positive: cheap! We checked again a week before our trip and couldn't find anything cheaper with that value. (High season) amazing location right in the center, max 3-5 minutes to the beach. At night time there are a lot of foot vendors near the park. We loved it. reception personnel was very polite and honestly cared and tried to help when something didn't work (wifi, running out of toilet paper) we even had a small balcony facing the park. The music at night didn't bother us at all as you can simply close the door (you could hear it but it was not as crazy as described in some reviews) water was warm (not hot, but nice after a hot day)
Negative: wifi really only works only at reception. Didn't work for me at all but I had a local Sim and every restaurant around offers wifi too no shower curtain (not a big deal) stains on bed sheets (were clean though. Just lot of use I guess) reception was not staffed all the time. Sometimes you had to wait for someone pressure in shower was weak//shower head old.
Yes, you can tell it is of course an older interior but for this price and after reading the reviews I was very positively surprised.
I would and will definetly stay here...
Read moreWe booked this hotel several weeks before arriving and the night before, my boyfriend and I checked out some of the reviews and after reading them on here, we were dreading arriving for 4 nights!||However... we checked in early, the room was clean, spacious, with a double bed and a single bed, ceiling fan, tv, and an AC unit that we could control, unlike most places.||The bed and pillows were comfortable, the room was cleaned every day along with new towels and free soaps.||Staff don't speak much English but we're helpful enough.||If you want a fancy hotel this may not be the place for you but if you're a backpacker budget, this is absolutely fine.||We've stayed in worse.. and Los Arcos did the job, we had...
