Nice spot for a breakfast.. a few areas that need improvement.

First with the good: latte was delicious, inside was quaint and comfortable with great AC in the hot weather. And they gave us complimentary water which we have never seen dining in Mexico in the last 8 months.

For the negatives: the service was poor. All the servers were wearing masks (it’s not Covid anymore) and because of the mask you can barely hear the server. Also she was not very friendly or welcoming. Second, the iPads are annoying. It feels like you are ordering from a fast food restaurant. Let’s bring back old school and servers writing down orders and making conversation with the patrons. It felt so robotic ordering here. Nothing special at all. We are in historic downtown Merida. Let’s keep things authentic please.

Third.. one of our dishes came at least 8 mins after the other so we had to wait for it and when I finally got my pancakes they were cold. But again the server didn’t come back to check on us so I couldn’t even give feedback.

Overall service needs major improvement. Get rid of the masks, get the servers to be more friendly and genuine.

The food was tasty but the service put a sour note on our morning. Overall still...

Marmalade is a beautiful place to have a delicious breakfast or a brunch while you enjoy a wonderful selection of relaxing and chill music in the background. You can also take some good pictures of the furniture and decoration to share with your friends and family. I came here a few times and in every occasion the food was delicious and the presentation was superb. The size of the portions for the dishes are good and you can easily end up satisfied after eating. It’s a little bit difficult to find a parking place at the weekends but they have a parking lot that they share with other restaurant called El Lucero. Some days like the weekends it may be at full capacity so consider to make a reservation before. All the personal is very polite and they can speak English too, especially Lirey who always explains me the flavors of the dishes and drinks and she has good recommendations with fresh ingredients. She’s very sweet and always ask if everything is okay or if we need anything else. I highly recommend to visit the place if you’re in Mérida and you’re looking for a good restaurant to have a...

Breakfast today was a complete disaster. To begin, 3 of our party wanted to order several varieties of eggs Benedict, one of the menu’s featured items, only to be informed that the cook had ruined the sauce and it would have to be made again, so we agreed to wait, (1 1/2 hours for breakfast). I ordered the yogurt and granola with lemon. There was no lemon. The bread crust that the eggs Benedict eventually came on was almost impossible to cut with a steak knife. One person ordered eggs Benedict with pulled pork and BBQ sauce. No surprise that the BBQ sauce was missing. When we were finally served, the eggs Benedict sauce was just melted butter so the cook’s second attempt at the sauce obviously wasn’t any more successful than his first. The only items that weren’t a total disaster were the two waffles. For these prices one would expect a competent chef and knowledgeable manager however we won’t be going back there again....

It was a very refreshing location, definitely not a typical Mexican place. Very clean, beautifully decorated, with cozy music playing. The interior is a mix of vintage, boho, and modern styles. The service was perfect; you hardly sit down before you're given the menu and a glass of water. They regularly check if everything is okay and if they can bring you anything else. Their pastries are very delicious, highly recommended. Very fresh. The cinnamon roll with chocolate was still warm. We had avocado toast and brie toast. Super, super tasty. We'll be back!
