I just gave five stars in every category, but only four stars overall. How did that happen? Well...

The very first time I walked by this place it felt special. There are a bunch of letters for Merida (too many) around town, yet this had it's own installation, like it was in the same level as the entire city. Bold move...

I marked it on the map and made a decision to come back when I had more time, as I was currently running late for a photoshoot. When I returned, I got quite the experience.

When I walked in after day out shooting photos, the place was electric. The football match was on a huge screen, hot women at a bunch of tables, and the drinks were flowing. All of that confused me...

I stopped by to watch the second half of the game, yet I felt like I was doing at a club, but there was no dance floor. It's a lot of vibes to take in. The feeling was even more strange after the game ended and the atmosphere leaned even more toward some kind of ultra lounge.

A Jennifer Lopez music video kicked off the dancing vibe for a room filled with tables. All the pretty ladies swayed back and forth as if dancing in their chairs. A huge birthday celebration began with sparklers and singers, but the entire time you can't escape the fact it's just a restaurant.

The table vibe is a thing in Mexico I still haven't gotten used to. Every bar and club is filled with tables, but some on them at least have a dance floor. Sitting down and drinking is a big thing here, but it also can make the vibe unsocial as people stick to their tables and don't randomly mingle.

The vibe and the service sound great, so why four stars. Because on the end it's a restuarant, so it's about the food. The food was delicious, but it seemed out of place with the atmosphere. I ordered the most delicious, and beautifully plated tacos I have ever seen. Which just drove home the feeling of everything being out of place. As individual elements they are five stars, but as a combined experience it's confusing.

Am I eating at a five star restaurant? Clubbing? Or at a sports bar? It all turned out to be a bit too much, but it's definitely an experience everyone should have. As I said, there's nothing to complain about, just be prepared to be highly stimulated, it's a...

I think many of the other reviewers may have missed the point of this place. This an upscale lounge type of restaurant that caters to the wealthy and beautiful. The type that gets absolutely annoyed when a bathroom isn’t pristine and trendy. The type that wants to impress their date, but not in a stuffy old school fine dining tule of way.

The service was great from the moment I walked in. I had no reservations; abruptly barging in after seeing the decor through the windows from the outside. The hostess was super polite and funny and spoke flawless English. She greeting me with a fresh smile and promptly set me up for service. Asked if i had any food allergies and asked if I was celebrating an event. She passed me off to a manager who kept me busy while my excellent server Jesus made his way over. Jesus was excellent at his craft and displayed attentiveness and a great personality.

They have a DJ playing good vibe mixes at a good volume. He’s actually a really good DJ with seamless transitions. The type of music that you’d hear when shopping at a luxury fashion boutique.

The food was balanced well; I think in time they will find what they do really well and hone in on it. All in all I think this is the type of chill upscale place you can return to on the weekly basis to vibe at.

I give it 5 stars in its current iteration, and I expect it to continue to improve. It’s apparent that whoever owns this place cares and has an eye for design and detail, so I expect things to just improve going forward. I ordered the short rib and it was an absolute monster. The gravy on it...
