My 24 hour stay at Casa9 was the stuff of nightmares honestly. Over the last 8 years, Mexico City has been my family's favorite vacation destination. We have stayed with 6 different hotels in Mexico City in that time, and Casa9 is the first time we have ever had a negative experience. Unfortunately this one was beyond negative! ||The problems started as soon as we arrived almost as soon as we arrived at the location as the code for the front door lock was super finicky. As a result, anytime we wanted to go in or out we had to wait between 15-30 minutes for someone to come on site to let us in. They advertise that they have 24-hour concierge service, but this is false advertising as there is 90% of the day nobody on site to support. ||When we stayed, there was nobody else at the location which made the huge space feel very spooky and like a ghost town. I'm sure it would be much nicer and less weird if other groups were staying in the space. ||Once we got to our room, we ready to move past the front door/lack of concierge/staff on site to try to enjoy our stay. So we moved into our room and decided to shower...only problem is the shower didn't work. The water wouldn't drain so there was this standing pool of gross water from previous stays that wouldn't drain. ||In my life I don't think I've ever cancelled a visit mid-stay, but after our first 24 hours and the lack of resolution to any of our complaints we decided we had no choice but to leave. We made our dissatisfaction to the hotel clear, and instead of trying to do right by us they kept talking about their cancellation policy and saying that there is nothing they can do. I got the impression they were happy to charge the cancellation fee and have us leave because at no point did they showed that they cared about us enjoying our stay. This really feels like one of those places that creates deceptive policies like their bogus cancellation fee and survives off these policies as opposed to providing a truly quality service. Newsflash - it's not a cancellation if you arrive at the location and cannot enjoy the space and therefore are forced to leave and spend more money to find a different hotel with a working front door/shower and a staff that cares about making the visit enjoyable for you and your family. ||The sad reality is that I have 100% confidence that if you stay here, and you encounter an issue, they will do absolutely nothing to make the situation right. So, if you do decide to stay here, I hope nothing goes wrong! ||Last point - the pictures on their website and phrases like "luxury" are truly deceiving in my opinion. The vibe is more like a youth hostel and less like a luxury...

Read moreStaying at Casa9 Zocalo was truly a spectacular experience. The location, the home, the rooms & the team made our 2-night stay in the Historic Center of Mexico City completely wonderful. This was my fifth time in Mexico City; and—by far—one of the best yet, thanks to the team at Casa9!
Our host, Mauricio, was gracious, friendly, warm, helpful, kind; and extremely knowledgeable about the city. He made some amazing suggestions, and helped us have an especially-great time. We felt supported and in the best of hands during our time at Casa9 Zocalo, thanks to Mauricio.
Renata, our digital concierge, had so many fantastic recommendations for us & she bent over backwards to arrange last-minute, in-room manicures and pedicures for me and my other half—with a lovely nail technician, who was super sweet & did great work. We loved it! Next time we will definitely consider onsite massages, a cooking class and private dinner.
The Casa9 team was super responsive and on top of their game! They also allowed for a super-late check out at a very reasonable fee, which was extremely helpful.
Given that the location is near Mexico’s equivalent of the White House & Supreme Court, this area is extremely safe feeling. Armed police and guards everywhere. Including a guard onsite at Casa9 Zocalo.
The location is near so many amazing restaurants, museums and historic sites. One could spend days on end simply focusing on the Zocalo by foot from Casa9 Zocalo.
The home itself is solidly built & very quiet; even though it is in the center of the action. Each space is appointed with beautiful antiques, art, artifacts and history. The restoration of this former seminary is artful and stunning.
Our room was spacious & taking daily soaks in the bath tub was divine. The space felt cozy and comfortable and homey.
Hearing the birds chirp in the courtyard each morning was energizing and uplifting.
The daily breakfast was peaceful and comforting and helped us feel so at home. The food was delicious and fresh; and the service was amazing. Such great hospitality.
Sitting in the center courtyard for morning coffee and happy hour was such a treat.
We will definitely be returning to Casa9 Zocalo & we also look forward to checking out their location in Condesa as well. The personalized attention / boutique experience was greatly appreciated. We can’t wait to...
