Ecos del Mundo — Restaurant in Mexico City

Went to Ecos del Mundo because of a good review I read. I was extremely disappointed. Not only was the service horrendous, but the food was tasteless and portions were small.

I got the lasagne and my husband got the green curry. The curry looked like green soup. The waitress was never around. We had to keep getting out of our seats to find her. The restaurant only had 2 other couples there, so it's not like the restaurant was busy. She brought our meals out at separate times. By the time I was finishing my meal, my husband's came out. To top it off, she asked for a tip (which was fine because I always leave a tip)...but after she charged our card, I noticed she also added an IVA tax. The waitress was a little scammer! What a total disappointment from...

I love these home cooked style breakfasts. They are traditional Mexican dishes with delicious taste. They have delicious juices as well. Most of the breakfasts are with eggs but if you ask, they will make several vegan dishes as well. My vegan friend had the Oaxacan dish with mole but they used peppers and mushrooms instead of chicken. The portion sizes are good and you will always have extra tortillas to fill you if it's not enough. I find that other places in the city to have enormous breakfasts that I cannot finish so the size is perfect...

The staff leaves much to be desired. The young man had adrenaline in his eyes when asking for a tip. I ordered a drink to go and I think such eagerness for a tip was out of place. It should also be at the customer's discretion. Voluntary. And as I said it was to go. The owner is responsible for not taking the time to attend to the behaviour and training of the staff. I recommend not to accept this because it is very annoying to deal with these situations all day, every day. Constantly watch out for where a nuisance will come from. I hope they will improve customer service as a matter of urgency.

This place was recommended to me but I can't do the same. I am very sorry to write this, as much as I am sorry to have left a tip.

El personal deja mucho que desear. El joven tenía los ojos inyectados de adrenalina al pedir propina. Yo solicité una bebida para llevar y creo que semejante avidez por la propina estaba fuera de lugar. Además debería ser a consideración del cliente. Voluntaria . Y repito fue para llevar. El dueño es el responsable por no tomarse el tiempo de atender el comportamiento y entrenamiento del personal. Recomiendo no aceptar esto porque es muy molesto lidiar con estas situaciones todo el día , todos los días . Cuidarse constantemente de por donde vendrá una molestia . Espero mejoren el trato al cliente de manera urgente.
