Casa Higuera Casa Sofia — Hotel in Nayarit

I would give this home a 5/5 but we had some issues with the upstairs refrigerator so we lost some food. But, in fairness to the property mngr, we could have informed them quicker too as to the problem and we could/should have moved food to the downstairs refrigerator so I’ll take the blame on that one. However, the common area gets very hot during the daytime so we spent more time in our bedrooms cooling off than we probably would have preferred. As the days went by, we figured a routine out between the two floors for comfort. Honestly, this really wouldn’t/shouldn’t be an issue for most visiting because they would probably be out on the beach during the day time. Unfortunately, due to a bit of physical impairment for some, maneuvering around the property was a challenge so they stayed close to the home most of the time. Some found the trek to the beach challenging due to bad knees, but I LOVED IT! It gave you a beautiful scenic view while getting in some exercise. However, not walking down the path wasn’t a negative experience there was so much more to experience from those views!! Casa Sofia gave you that and more!! The views are gorgeous so you don’t want to leave. You can hear the waves hit the shore from both floors of the home. Shopping is right around the corner if you must leave. Best to stop to get groceries on your way in though. Casa Sofia offers you ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS views from a beautiful home inside and out!! I cannot praise the property enough; however, I’ll probably do winter when I return since it should be cooler therefore the hot common areas shouldn’t be a factor. We just returned from a trip to Sayulita and stayed at Casa Higuera. It was amazing. The accommodations are just wonderful, the staff is outstanding, and the owner is completely available for support. The location has perfect access to both the town and the beach.

At least as, if not more, importantly, we found ourselves in a complicated situation and the owner was SO helpful in supporting us as we worked through to resolve the issue. I am forever in his debt.

Such a gorgeous location. Property is kept very clean. Nightwatchman, if you are concerned. Gardener pays attention to every detail. Housekeepers daily.
